I have a stock 99 cv p71 with 109,000 miles, The only thing I have done is put in a tune and adjusted the trans pressure, Will the jmod make that much diffrence or should I just leave it the way it is. Thanks :burnout:

Good for racing, but imho not good for everyday driving. The 1-2 shift is heavy duty.

personally I really like mine as long as you keep your accumulator springs in and ease off the line pressure it works really well for a dd.

The j-mod also extends the life of a transmission. I have had them on both of my previous mm's, I personally like the accumulator springs taken out then adjust the pressure VIA tuner.

My springs are out and my Zack tune does not soften the 1-2 shift nearly enough. I will be putting the springs back in.

Knowing how to modulate the shift with your right foot helps, but.....

The wide open throttle shift and chirping of the tires is great though!

To each his own.

Thanks for the info, A tranny guy told me it was a waste of money and time and the tranny would need rebuilt sooner because of the mod, And what you guys said makes me want it even more just to show him it will still be a good daily driver.

Your tranny guy is wrong about the rebuild factor.

He's not my tranny guy and I would never let him work on my car since he dont know what he is talking about so many MM members have said how good the jmod has been for them and I agree on every thing I've read and was told so thanks for all the input going to do the mod saturday afternoon. CANT WAIT..

I had my Jmod done after 155-156k miles on my car and I love it. I have a 3500 triple disc converter and 4.10 gears. Having the converter def softens up the shifts a good bit.

I opted to remove the one spring for the 1-2 shift and no spring for the 2-3 shift. I also bought a Sonax grooved pressure regulator valve, new EPC and TCC solenoid.

Did you notice a big diffrence with the sonax pressure regulator valve and the new EPC and the TCC solenoid

Whatever springs were suppose to be taken out were I mean.

Did you notice a big diffrence with the sonax pressure regulator valve and the new EPC and the TCC solenoidThe Sonax PRV has grooves in it to allow trans fluid to help keep it lubed unlike the stock one. I really can't say for sure because I did everything at once but I figured why not replace that stuff while the trans was open since I've got a fair bit of mileage on mine and was hoping maybe it would help correct a TC lockup issue I was having but found out it's due to something in the tune.

I use SCT Extreme tune software so I can adjust light, medium and full throttle shift pressure, I need to lower it on light and medium throttle cause it's a little to firm but all in all it's def worth having solely because of how quick the car shifts, it's a night and day difference just on that alone.

Some people leave in the 1-2 spring and take out the 2-3 spring.
