It's amazing what people will buy. That's just a waste of money, but I am sure you posted in jest...I hope.

If you like that product...find some great ones here! http://www.kalecoauto.com/ :D

Yes Interceptor, this is an example of how far someone will go to get your money.

My favorite was an add I found for a stick-on hood scoop that advertised "an apparent 10-20 hp gain!"

Gentlemen,

I really don't appreciate you trashing my products. Everyone has the right to offer products and services to the public and allow the laws of supply and demand to dictate who stays and who goes.

With that said, I will offer one of my electric superchargers to a member of this board to test (at a discount) and then have them provide a full indepth educated review. I don't think you'll be disappointed. In addition to tons of tire smokin' low end torque, it'll keep dust and dirt off of that crappy FOMOCO black paint job.

If those benefits alone aren't worth the price of admission then for a small fee, I'll upgrade the unit to superduper badass stage III Type R electric supercharger. With this upgrade, You'll lose 40 lbs. and all the hair that's growing out of your ears and nose will revirt back to the top of your heads. In addition, the upgrade comes with a long piece of duct tape to put over your spouses mouth so you will no longer have to listen to her ***** about how much you're spending on your Grand Mar... I mean Marauder.

Now that you know the deal, who wants one...

Disclaimer : Obviously this is a joke. I just as soon cut off Mr. Happy then to buy or sell crap like that. No animals were hurt in the making of this post, well...

HAHAHAHA....
That kalecoauto.com is the silliest site I have ever visited!!

Nothing like some real humor to start the new year off in the right direction.
Thanks for the post...I just HAD to add it to my favorites for future reference.

Hmm. I guess I won't be calling them then. I was planning to order one for the Tahoe and the lawn tractor, too.

Can anyone offer the Coles notes version of why SC's and TC's work, and why this product doesn't? We "less experienced" owners owners would appreciate the info!

Without the benefit of actually having seen one in operation, I think it boils down to:

What kind of boost can anyone expect with something that small?

With the kind of drag that a supercharger puts on an engine during operation via its belt just to achieve 6-10 pounds of boost, what kind of Big-A$$ (tm) electric motor would have to be on that thing to be able to deliver the same amount of compression as a mechanically-driven unit (ie. supercharger)?

Now... just to be a devil's advocate, maybe just maybe the little whizzer is able to provide a teeny tiny bit of added air pressure waiting at the throttle blades which might result in a slightly more brisk throttle response. Maybe...

... but once you get that engine running at any decent RPM, I can't see that obstruction being anything else than a restriction in the intake path.

I agree with Steve SC and TC move a huge volume of air to achieve that with an electric motor (fan) it would have to Be about the size oF the engine compartment. Also at normal highway speeds the fan shown would most likely be an obstruction to air flow. But hey there cheap!

Ok I am bored... so how about this: instead of mounting it in line with air flow which is a definite obstruction, how about mounting it where the j-silencer goes, it no longer blocks air flow and it should add a little intake air at low rpm's....or maybe I should just go and take my medication:bounce: :baaa:

Interesting idea, Smokie. My car is outside encased in about 1 inch of ice so I can't get at it very easily... is the MAF upstream of the Donkey Dong (tm) or downstream? If it's before the silencer, then any opening in the intake path will result in air metering errors, since more air is being admitted into the engine than is properly read by the MAF.

Then you would have to filter that new found air supply:baaa:.........Also you would need to add their wheelie bars .(optional)

I already took my medicine...so reality is coming into focus; the MAF is before the J-Thing, so I guess now we have to go to plan B...what did you say plan B was ???

But it comes with a K&N!!! The stickers alone should be good for 12-15 rwhp!!
(or is that FRONT wheel horsepower? ;) )

Their site claims 4-6 hp from one of these, which may be true but not worth the time to wire in and hook it up. A simple K&N filter will do more.

Plan B ..... DO NOT Buy One !

Give me two, one for each rear passenger! My kids would love the cooool breeze these things would produce :)

Wait, maybe they would do better if you mounted them on the back of the car facing rearward, sort of a turbo rocket assist system :)

Yeah, but, is'nt it more sophisticated than a fixed vane TORNADO !?!

I know some of you are using Tornados, hmmmm? What up!

I would hope the only tornado in a Marauder exists in the form of swirling juices in the would be owner's empty brain cavity :)

All right, already! I'm putting my VISA card away ;)

But it reminds me of a wish I had a while back, which was a listing of the most common mods, with their 'ball-park' costs. Could this be done showing est HP gained as well? This info would, I think, be truly useful to those who only have a few $$ available for mods. It would also, I think, avoid any direct product to product comparisons, if only generic mod terms were used.

Anyone agree?

Yes you have asked before, MLM and so have a few others. Perhaps you're still waiting because answering such a global question is time consuming, and it exposes the author to be critized for his decision. Moreover, I don't think many members here are really testing mods before and after with any precision. Dyno tests cost money, and track times are affected by the changing seasons. Even our "post your time slips" has it's complications from inaccuracy, and attempts at humor. I understand why you're not getting an answer.

Why not try it another way? Tell us how much you have to spend, and we'll post our opinions on how best to spend that. Then you can sift through all the opinions before you decide? Nothing to lose in trying, eh?
