View Full Version : Replica Window Stickers

As pretty much everybody knows, Ford is no longer producing re-prints of vehicle window stickers for our cars (source is no longer available), but a lot of folks have been asking about getting one for their car, me included.
After doing some research, I found a guy that hangs out over at SVTPerf that has been making repro window stickers for Mustangs. I hooked up with him, and to make a long story short, he's set up a template to reproduce Marauder window stickers in addition to his Mustang offering.
There was some initial cost in doing the graphics set up, but I've covered that with my order. Jeff has agreed to print up additional window stickers to order at a cost of $45 (you get two window stickers, shipped, for that price). They are printed on OEM-grade paper, and look genuine. They are produced specifically for each car, and will include your car's VIN, vehicle color, options list, as well as other details (dealership, etc, as you re able to provide).
If interested, you can contact Jeff via e-mail: jbrown6@tampabay.rr.com
I've got no stake in this offer, only passing it along as an FYI, but I can tell you, I'm very impressed with the final product received. Will post up some pics after I get them laminated (for protection). For now here's a sample image that Jeff sent me during the mock up.
I'm sensing much WIN in your posting.

Options list was pretty small:
Trunk organizer
Heated Seats
6 CD changer
Rear spoiler (factory installed)
Moonroof (2004 only)
Post up what year, and the options you have and we can get pricing to match up to them.

I thought that the rear spoiler was dealer installed.
The moonroof was also installed after it left the factory with a "2MHHM" incomplete vehicle VIN. If you've got a moonroof on a "2MEHM" VIN'd Marauder, it was a personal aftermarket addition.

That may well be, Charlie, didn't know if it was/could be ordered from the factory, and noted as such on the window sticker. Can anybody chime in on this to confirm?
Also, +1 on the moonroof, ordered as an option, but installed after it left the factory, need to check the VIN for sure on this one to get it right.
If you don't know your dealer, a OASIS report will likely reveal a service early in the cars life that will PROBABLY be the selling dealer...

Don't know about that, but I'll gladly buy you a couple bourbons the next time we get together... :D
Yeah mine had the shifter cable routing corrected on 6/24/02 by Putnam LM in Ft Smith AR, they also did other work including replacing a scratched wheel... On a 18 day old car not much doubt, they were the selling dealer...

Also, another bit of trivia.
The front license plate holder was a NO CHARGE option, but is listed under the options.
If you've got one, you'll want to make sure it's included on the options list.
And for the 300A guys, note that traction control will have to be deleted from the "Functional" standard features (and prolly add in remote fuel door access).

After reviewing my OASIS report, it shows selling dealer as 346616 (six digits), it was sold (warranty date) 14 JUL 03. The first warranty claim was 26 SEP 03 at Green's Lincoln Mercury in Lexington, KY. So I tried to verify the selling dealer number at the site: http://www.autodealerdirectory.us/ky_s_mercury_m30m_madd.html
It shows Greene's, but the number 73380 (five digits). Continued to research, looked here: http://gtcsregistry.com/dealercodes.htm No luck there. Went on to try various combinations of the six digit selling dealer number correlating with this site also: http://www.mercurypickup.com/dsocodes.htm Still no Luck, out of research time for now. Hopefully Roy Pita can shed some light on the six digit selling dealer code

That'd be a great reference if the ID number on the OASIS report matched the list... Putnam in Ft Smith, ID on my report is 322585, so I don't have any idea on how to correlate the five vs six digit ID...

I don't think the variance is big enough to account for the difference in Imperial to US gallons. 7MPG is a big difference!

Got up this morning and thought I'd take a different tack to finding out what dealer sold my Marauder. I called the Mercury Customer Assistance number (888-333-7813) on the bottom of the letter we received from Ford announcing the demise of our brand. On hold for three minutes. She asked a few questions, Am I the Owner?, Current address, Vin #, once they verified I was the owner, took them about two minutes to track it down. I asked her if there was anywhere on the net we could cross reference the selling dealer number on the OASIS report. I explained to her that we have members that would like to be able to track down their vehicle, so a database would be appreciated. She said the list wasn't "public available". Hmmm, Guess that's TOP SECRET. Oh Yeah, she told me that I had a $750.00 certificate for a new car that expired at the end of the month (a little sales pitch). She continued, I could have went to a Ford dealer (some small dealers databases don't go back as far as others) and they could find out through the VIN. Finally, she said I could have also emailed Ford with the VIN, and it would take five to seven work days. It turns out that mine came from Crossroads Ford Lincoln Mercury, in Frankfort, KY. So there you go.........Good Luck!:burnout:

Is the Ford Blue format incorrect for the Mercury Marauder model? If so I would like to try and adjust the color before we get to far along with this project. If someone can point me in the right direction and provide a color scanned image of at least a portion of an original it would help. I have been using black and white samples and Factory Ford after production reprints as examples.

My 2004 original window sticker is in the light blue format, not just various shades of grey. It was sold in Cleveland, TN new.
It's in a frame on the wall, but if nobody else sends you a copy, I guess I could take it out and scan it. But it definitely has the blue colourings and is not just various shades of gray.
Would you need it sent or is a full colour scan acceptable?

I can't speak for Jeff, but IMO, if you scanned the document, and compared the coloring to the original, and they matched, the scanned copy would be adequate.
I guess the best way to get the right shade of color. Someone needs to take an original go to a local print shop and have it scanned then mail the copy to this guy. You will never get the right color with sending email pdf. I have proofed labels before and always when printed it is not the same as the email.

There is only one way I can find out who the selling dealer is: if there is a warranty claim on the OASIS report during the time the vehicle was on the lot. Howeverthat might always be true because of the possibilities of the vehicle being dealer traded.

I can find out what factory options your MM has. Feel free to PM me about this.

No please don't send your original. I don't want to take a chance on the USPS losing it. The other one was an original from a "lost" vehicle. To answer your question, yes, they can be that different. I am not surprised that you have a Blue window sticker. It looks like Ford/Mercury will use what is available at the time when there is a shortage. For years Ford used Blue ones for cars and Red ones for trucks. Shortly after I started doing window stickers for 2nd gen Lightning's people came forward with the same information. Some were Red and others were Blue. I can do them either way for the Marauder. The standard seems to be on the black format.
I have my original and its also blue.

It is starting to look like the Blue Ford format is not uncommom. I guess I should ask as the orders come in which format each individual would like. I think the Black is probably more common then the Blue.
I wonder if it goes by year?
The couple guys that have the original '03 window stickers are in the black/gray color format, don't know if they're are that way or not. I'm gonna PM Bluerauder to get his info.

Rex,
I have my original window sticker for a 2003 300B MM and the "identical" reprint from the guy in Florida ("sspmustang") back in December 2006. Both have a black border with the Mercury logo in the upper left. The gray fields with black text include:
1. Vehicle Description,
2. the MPG block, and
3. the actual Total MSRP block.
All the rest of the fields are white with black text.

I tried both the numbers for mercury service and the ford performance-both locations I was told that the original selling dealer information was restricted and not available to the public. Ford performance was pleasant about it, Mercury was curt to the point of rudeness. I also tried calling the dealership where the earliest warranty work was performed-they could tell me that they sold it to the second owner, but their records didn't indicate whether or not they sold it earlier than that.
I find it hard to believe that it's that big a deal-any other suggestions?

You may have dead-ended with your search; keep in mind that these cars are 8-9 years old, and tracking records on them, especially original sales documentation, is going to be tough.

That's what I'm wondering. If the window stickers were produced in both color formats, does it make a difference whichever one is used for producing a replica?

Question about window sticker 03A
I have a 03A Marauder, I have ordered the replica window sticker and have just recently received the image for my approval.
It lists traction control all speed
Does not seem correct as I know the 04's have the switch on the dash for traction control.
Please help with info as I would like to get this approved .
Thanks

I discovered today that I may have missed two or three orders while trying to keep pace with heavy demand lately. I have contacted several members on this forum as well as a few from the Cobra, Lightning, Mach 1, etc forums to make sure there are not any other members who sent a payment but did not yet receive a finished product or a draft sample by e-mail. Please contact me by e-mail if any of you feel I may have missed your order.

Please accept my apology for the confusion. I am not a professional company. I am just an average working guy who does this in my spare time for a few low production Ford/Lincoln Mercury vehicles.
Thank you,

Ray, FedEx and Knko's merged a few years back, so if you've got a FedEx store nearby they should be able to do the laminating work for you, or at least direct you elsewhere if they can't at that particular location.

Yes, it was perfect and helpped a great deal. But many times there are little changes through a model year or there may be VIN specific info on a window sticker. If a person has there own original I can include everything on the new document. One example is when the vehicle is a special order throught the X or A plan. The customer's name appears on the document under Optional Equipment.
I think I still owe you a free one for your help. Can you refresh my memory on your vehicle data? Email me if you can. I also need to return the copy to you.

No, I was just told to stop. About a year ago I did see a company on e-bay or somewhere on line that was doing recreations with a license. If I find the link I will pass it along.
