Has anyone ever gotten their Marauder undercoated? I was thinking about it to prevent any further rusting...The guy I bought it off of drove it year round for 6 years. Was wonding if it would still be worth it or not since the car isn't brand new? (The car only has 33,000 miles on it)

Absolutely worth it. BUT..... undercoating doesn't stop the rust that's already there. Gotta get that stuff under control first and then undercoat.

What would be the easiest way to do it? I've been thinking about taking the body off the frame and doing it right but what kind of labor would that involve?

There's a Ziebart by me that will do it for $200.00. I'm not going to drive the car in the winter, so I'm wondering how necessary it would be to get rid of any rust thats already there...

Rust is car CANCER. Just like in humans, if you don't cut it out it will get worse.

Mine was undercoated when new. Looks great underneath, except of course for all the things that can't be undercoated. Although, mine only saw a couple winters.

Undercoating is very much worth it, but if you drive it alot it will degrade and flake off over time. As the others said, if you have rust under there, treat it before you undercoat or you will have just wasted your time.

Just get some cans from the store and do it yourself. Ramps help. Ask me how I know.

I don't know if you have a company called "Rust Check" in Michigan; but so worth it. It's the kind that drips into every crevis of the car. In my family, the people that have done it, have cars that don't have a spot of rust on them (they're not new cars)!

Don't use rubberized undercoating either. Make sure to use an oil base undercoating. The rubber tends to flake or tear and then water gets trapped between it and the body causing rust.

Where is the "Rust Check" you are referring to? Toronto?

Yup.
The one near the Queensway and Royal York. (Just down from Cosco).
I've personally used Krown on my cars. Great stuff too! After the winter, when the "crap" on the car starts to dry, you can actually see around all the doors and hood and trunk, that the metal looks "wet". Like it's soaked in all the product.

I was just debating on having mine undercoated and looked up this thread. Has anyone got any updates since this was posted on what is best? I have a good condition MM and it will be driven in the winter as of right now.

After reading so many pros and cons I am almost leaning towards seasonally rust checking and repairing instead of undercoating. Any thoughts?

look up Fluid Film....there are approved shops that apply it . you need to get stuff into the doors, behind the plastic rocker panels, etc.

POR15 is your best option.

Ok, my follow up questions is, Can you get it all taken off?

My new CV Sport was rust proofed its first day of ownership... And taken in for follow up. Brochure and company a top quality company... said it adds to sound dampening too!

We don't have this in West Coast... can I get it all taken off? Will car be "all new" if it is removed?

depends on how big a wallet you have or how ambitious you are. enough solvent, putty knives, scrapers, torches might get it off. just drive it and not worry about it,it wont hurt it.
