View Full Version : Which aftermarket hubs are worth a crap?

I buy only Ford OEM parts for my Marauder. That's about to change because I'm replacing my 167k mile hub assemblies.. one of which feels tighter than I think it should (discovered during brake service and strut replacement), and the price at www.fastpartsnetwork.com is around $265 each for OEM. I just can't swing that.

I guess from the Rockauto list below, I'd choose either Raybestos or Timken, simply because Timken manufactures bearings for everything and Raybestos is a name brand. Autozone carries the Timken hubs, and it looks like they will pricematch online prices of other places.

Anyway, who has experience with which aftermarket hubs? Any failures or crappy quality problems that you've noticed? They're probably all made in the same Ching Chong factory across the sea, but whatever.

Thanks for any info.

Another vote for TIMKIN. They are the preferred bearing company by Ford.

My vote is for Timken, that what I used when I did my suspension overhaul.

I have also had luck with the Duralast brand from Autozone.
