Has anyone given these tires a shot yet? I actually ordered at set of Nitto 555's in a 235/50/R18 but apparently they don't ship Nitto's to Canada. So for the same price they are sending me these Falkens. The tread pattern looks like the original BFG's.

V rating is good to 149mph which is plenty. i just hope the sidewall is as stiff as the BFG's

Why not just order the Nitto's and have them delivered to a discount tire dealer in Detroit and go pick them up or have them put them on?

I had the same problem with my nittos 555, they wouldn't ship them to Canada. I ordered them to the UPS store which is right @ the border and im gonna go pick them up. 45 minutes drive...not too bad but still a pain in the ass.
I ordered them from discount tire as well!

This Falken tire comes in sizes that would make for 2 useable MM combos:
245/40/18 front with 255/45/18 rear
235/45/18 front with 245/50/18 rear
Both combos have shorter sidewalls than stock, though, hence shorter overall wheel diameter. But, they're well within the +-3% tolerance for front/rear rotations/mile difference.

not worth the hassle. I'm installing them at myself at my shop and i really hate crossing the border.

i attempted to order Nitto 420S for the rear last year and had this same issue but i had forgotten. i was able to have Kal Tire match the price however. This time they wouldn't even come close. They wanted 257 each. Aside from the Nitto issue, Discount tire always has great deals.

What a bunch of thieves (Kal tire)! Not only is hard enough to find tires for the marauder but they have to ruin it for everyone in Canada who wants to order NITTOs.

Ya, they got exclusive Nitto tire import rights. It kinda sucks, because they can jack up the price at will.

You could try these guys out, they can still get Nitto's in Canada. I just got a set of 555's from them, and beat a friend's Kal Tire employee pricing even after shipping them. It may not be cost effective for you living in Ontario, though, shipping costs might push the threshold.

You got to be careful with discount tire - I ordered a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3's from them a year ago and got tires made in 2004!

looking @ the opening to the outer groves of the tread I would say it would push more water than channel it away from the interior.
