I just made the final arrangements today with Justbob to buy his kickass custom made hood. I've been after him since the first day I saw it to buy it from him. I sold my bike today to buy it and other upgrades for my car........I am totally psyched. This hood rocks!
I will miss my bike but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do!
Marauder sickness. It's a disease!

Contests tone, his hood is awesome. I absolutely love it because there isn't another Marauder out there that has it. It has subtle flare which to me is what makes it rock. Congrats

Joe,
You need something unique, yet subtle for your car.
May I suggest:

Very subtle, I like my mods so you have to look up close to see that it isn't stock...

Well, Joe kinda likes "bulgy" things... :D
Why is JustBob selling the hood?
That's a good question. I know he's got an OEM as well as the modified one, prolly has something else in the works.

Selling stuff for the sake of the Marauder is a norm around here. haha

Why is JustBob selling the hood?
Well I don't want to speak for Bob, but as someone who has known him for over 20 years I can tell you that Bob jsut likes to switch it up every once in awhile. The Marauder is the longest he has owned a car, he changes cars more often than Joe changes his underwear, but this car he fell in love with, so he is probably just trying to keep it fresh

Wow, a thread on my hood? LOL Brad hit it spot on. It's been a love/hate thing since day one, especially with the early on paint flaws (moisture & solvent pop) But it has been over a year now since the repaint and just getting stale on me. Hard to believe it's been over two years now since I grafted the '80 Z28 air induction scoop I had for over 14 years to the junkyard cvpi hood.
I was literally one day away from ordering a mustang cowl and gathering yet another hood to make one like Zacks and GDMjoe's cowl (LOVE those!) when out of nowhere DTUB put two classglass hoods up for sale on the cheap. Big thanks to Zack who knew I wanted a change and texted me at 6 AM on a Sat. to let me know he just seen them up for sale!!
I have never cared for the classglass hoods, but it was the easy way out for now (except for trying to get that POS straight!) Besides, it's starting to grow on me :)
Enjoy it Tom, I did. To the other few peeps that found out I was "thinking" of selling mine and left PM's and texts, sorry, I didn't know you were all so serious?
Well, lets see what this baby can do now that I shaved over 9000 lbs swapping hoods!:D
Enjoy your hood Bob and sorry about that drive.

I know at one point at time Bob had doubts about that hood, but I personally loved it even in it's not so perfect stage and couldn't wait till it was perfected. If given the chance I'd rock 'em on my MARAUDER, s0 MARAUDER on my lucky friend!

That would be it. Bob said it was from a 1980 Camaro Z28.

Believe it or not, the hood was easier than I thought to sell off. It was the scoop that I had troubles parting with! I looked at that scoop buried in the shed a dozen or so times in the last 14 years and moved it with me into it's third shed at my third home in that time.. I stock piled some rare parts for my 5th Camaro build and have slowly peddled most of them off over the years as I have become less interested in that generation camaro.
I had at one time a complete four speed set up (pedals, trans, d/s, even a counsel with bezel), T-top locks w/keys, grilles, and specific to '80 only factory aluminum rims w/centercaps (very, VERY hard to find and BIG $$$). I'm sure there was more. Just can't believe it is finally gone. It was the original one off the last car I owned, the only one I did a complete body off frame restoration, all the way down to OEM specific graphics. That car was so much BETTER than new, it was insanely clean and paint detail was show worthy. I owned a '78, '79, '80, and '81, every year of that style and could still answer any question on design changes! Still have the assembly manual even. LOL I had to sell, oops I meant GIVE this one away for quick cash, and sell my home to bail my mother out of debt about three weeks after finishing it. It was the quickest build I had ever done, total time, 2 1/2 months, with three credit cards, and done in a one car garage! It was sad to see it go, but for very good reason at least. Maybe not seeing that hood daily will help me forget back then.
I've been contemplating another build of an earlier model lately for something to do. It would be nice to take a back seat to simplicity and CHEAP parts for once, not to mention something more old skool to enjoy.
Story time over, sorry to bore. :)
