Need Some Opinions

So i found a Black 300a with 32,000 miles for $16,500. I went to see the car and it all checks out and is in very good condition. I did some talking with him and hes willing to go $15,500 for the car. Here is the description he has for it.

(Car has custom install Kenwood 6.1 Screen and Navigation, Ipod cable, 300 watt amplifiier and two 12 inch Punch subs. Comes with DIABLOSPORT Predator Tuner/Programmer, for more horsepower and better gas mileage. Tucked away nicely in the grill and just under rear trunk lid is the BLINDER(the worlds most advanced laser jamming technology), the led, siren, and on and off switch are mounted on dash. Also hidden in the grill area is BELTRONICS radar detector device, inner controll led and siren are also mounted on dash. along with the 4.6 dual overhead cam(interceptor), is a K&N high flow cold air intake. Kooks stainless steel headers, Borla complete exhaust system(stainless), and Borla crome exhaust tips. KVR high performance brake system with slotted brake rotors and new duralast Cmax brake pads, powder coated power calipers. Front and rear suspension is by Addco. Sylvania clear blue headlamps light up the road for miles. This car sounds awsome, runs great, handles and brakes the same. All the windows are tinted and looks tuff. Car has never seen a winter, never been smoked in, interior is flawless, exterior has no dents or scratches, there is a few stone chips.I got the car at 18000 miles and my wife is the main driver it is never beat and well kept had a radiater and trans flush. There is over 10,000 in extras on this car. The first owner installed the headers and brake system,intake and such.The second owner put new tires on.My wife and I were the third owner and installed the radar stuff and kenwood tv and sound system and custom sub woofer cabinet in trunk.A few months back the car was put in just my wifes name and not mine any longer,this would constitute the fourth owner,but really there has only been three owners.)

I want the car horribly bad but my dad and i talked about how you never know if the people who put these mods in did a good job or not and if i will run into problems. Let me know what you think, if i shouldnt be so worried let me know cause im planning on test driving it next Sunday. Thanks, Trevor

I noticed you're in my neck of the woods. Have you run the VIN yet to confirm the story? Is the person familiar with these forums including Motor City Marauders? If not, I wouldn't rule it out but be careful.

I would think a lot of research would've been done for all those mods. You may want to ask if he would object to an Alternative Auto inspection? Lid knows these cars very well in the Metro area.

Not exactly mod heavy. The brakes and suspension are fairly simple. The electronics, do they work? If they do, good to go. Carfax and OASIS should be done.

sounds like a nice car, im in michigan also, if you want some one else to look at it for you, but as previously stated the mods are light duty mods, nothing serious

Yeah, i will be going back to see/drive the car next sunday and i will run the vin and ask as many questions possible. I dont know who did the mods but i feel pretty safe that unless your blind or drunk when you put them on it is hard to screw them up. I will keep you guys posted on what happens and let you know if i need some more help. Thanks alot, Trevor.

I would consider the mileage on this car to be on the low side so you would be paying a bit more for a car with this kind of mileage most likely anyway. When you figure in the cost of the mods already done vs. doing them on a stock car I'd say you are in the ball park but a bit close to the foul pole. I could see 14's for the car as described.

PM RoyalPita the Vin for an Oasis report. This will give you some history of the car and it's maintenance if the previous owners took it to a dealer for service or warranty work. Good luck:)
