Raced a 1971 Chevy El Camino with a rebuilt 350, headers running straight to glass packs (no "exhaust"), bored, BP&B, Edelbrock intake and carb, 3/4 race cam, stage 1 shift kit and a B&M shifter, running no air filter and lowered rear tire pressure. We didn't have a full 1/4, we were maybe 1/16 or so short. Got 'em up to about 82-85MPH. He had me out of the pocket (I forgot to turn the climate control off, stupid me...) but I gained quick and beat him by the front of my bumper. Had I known he was "cheating", I woulda pulled my filter, dueshed my spare/jack, and lowered my pressure, but I didn't think he'd do that. Oh well, still got him. Just a note on the conditions, it was 33F (according to the nifty neat lil outside tempt thingy), dry, light wind, and my car has 1200 miles on it. My "mods" are down below. Didn't relieve pressure of the coolant system, didn't air down my tires, nothing... Just like I drive her everyday. Not bad, I was impressed. Oh yah, got my second gear scratch from a roll at 15 shifting manualy. Nice... It does much better by itself though. Well, that's my excitement for the night. I told him we'll go again when I've got 5000 on her! :D

PS: For those who heard me talking about this before, the Monte Carlo pussed out, since he knew his car was slower than the Camino...
