When I was dreaming of '9x Chevy Impala SS I saw something I thought was pretty neat and wanted to see if I could get some input on how to possibly do this for the MM.

The SS I saw had the Impala logo embossed and painted on the hood insulator. It looked pretty cool.

I think the god's head and some "Marauder" text would be pretty cool.

I have the means to paint this on but need an idea on the kind of paint that will adhere to the material and withstand the underhood environment.

Embossing. I have no idea how to go about this. Anyone?

That sounds interesting. Oddly enough I was looking at mine yesterday, and it has become apparent to me that with only 15,000 miles, it has gotten quite dirty.

When you figure out what to use to paint it, help me figure out how to clean it as well :D

Agent M79,
Since I also own a C5 Corvette and the hood pad came from the factory embossed with the C5 logo, many CorvetteForum members thought up neat ways to decorate the hood pad. Most of thse ideas apply to our MMs as well. What we need for our MMs is a `blown up (ENLARGED)' MM.net logo that we could cut out and then stencil on the hood pad!
Paint wise, we need to `prime' the Hood pad area to be painted with the MM logo, etc. with high temp Black Barbeque paint and then you can proceed to spray paint a design over top of the primed area -- silver, white or sinister red? Paint pens will work for fine details if you can get a color match for what you are doing.
BTW, it is absolutely amazing how much stuff has been conceived for the C5 Corvette that can be transferred and adapted for the MM!!!
