Here is the end results of the work on the painted parts of my Marauder.

Wash / Clay bared / Cleaner wax and Canuba polish. @ least now all I should have to do is use the California duster or the instant detailer to clean er up.

Granted I still have to do the interior and windows and finish off the wheels but the biggest pain in the butt is done.

Best quote I ever read was from a professional detailer's web site, "You have no idea how big these cars are till you detail one yourself!"

I did the black box too. Looked great, but too much work imo.

Armour All just came out with a new wax and polish line and it is so easy and looks fantastic!

Your car looks awesome Leo.

Thanks for the compliments!

I am paying the price though with Icy Hot patches on the lower back and muscle relaxers just to be able to sleep!

So today is a relax day I am not going to finish her up.

Saturday I hope I am back to par so I can get her done and outside to take some nice pics of her all detailed.

I did scrub the floor matts in the tub last night though after vacuuming them to make them look like new again.

Thanks for the comment!

You have to do this in my neck of the woods to compete against all the classics. The newer cars get looked over too much for awards and trophy's if they do not stand out and you show some serious pride in your car.

Granted I almost always have the only Marauder @ the places in state which helps a lot of course but until I started to modify her she got looked over for almost all consideration categories.

Kinda why I do something new each year so it dose not look like I have lost interest in her and just showing off the old.

Same here. I like to represent when I attend car shows.

Thanks jus4kix03MM and DOOM

I will post before and after shots of the floor matts after they dry to show the difference in washing them in the tub as well.

I want to have a set of show mats made for the car but just not in the cards as of yet.

Looks really good!

Just did the Black Box to mine...Lot of work, but worth it.

What brand of clay bar did you use and how long did it take you to clay?

I posted a picture of the Mothers Clay bar system in the first part of the thread.

As to how long it takes depends on your car and how much you feel while using the clay bar. You have to pass it over an area until you only feel a smooth surface under neath it and it just glides over the wet surface.

So how long it takes depends on the car and how much contaminants are in the paint.

Black box fills the scratch's and looks GREAT, but fails miserably after only a month if your car actually gets driven. I loved all the hard work I did with it till it all came back. Skip the clay bar, skip the black box's cover up, and get yourself this > http://www.goferauto.com/3mpeulfopopa.html and this > http://properboatcare.com/174-3M-Perfect-It-3000-Ultrafina-SE-Swirl-Remover-32oz.aspx and REMOVE all those fine scuffs and swirls. If you have deep scratch's then first use 3M liquid rubbing compound and a wool pad, then this other system. Really no need, but I finish off with a heavy coat of mequiars NXT 2.0. One bottle of machine polish will do your car twice, for me and my O.C.D., that's two years worth.

Looks really good Leo, hopefully it will last you the summer, or atleast longer than mine and others have, but I drive the wee out of mine all year long, no garage queen here..:burn:

The only problem is the clearcoat is thin and you do not want to remove some each year if you can avoid it.

Most places measure it before using a polish like that just in case.

Took some outdoor shots finally in front of the garage yesterday from ground level and from the second floor before heading out to the cruise in Derby.

You can get a better look @ the chin spoiler now not being in the garage.

I never endorse a cleaning product but I went to two different Pep boys this weekend and they had a display for this product.

The first Pep boys were sold out of it and the second one only had one left. I never heard of it before but the fact that it was in high demand made me very curious.
Well yesterday I did my car with it and after using probably almost every different brand and type of wax including tech wax, black box, ice, gliptone, 3M, and all different independent wax vendors, I was really impressed with this stuff. I'll try to take some better high quality pictures outside in the sun to really show how well this stuff works. Easy on and easy off by hand, but a little costly at $16 for a little bottle but the results are well worth it. This same company makes a tire dressing which I wasn't too thrilled with.

 ah um well you see um take no offense but :censor: no!

3 Icy Hot patches later for the back and a bottle of muscle relaxers says it is a no go doing it alone again for my own never mind someone else's.

I love the looks and attention she gets all detailed but hate paying the price after words body wise.

To be honest if there was a place around here I could trust and have enough extra cash I would gladly pay someone to do it for me. :o
