Is it worth the premium to buy an MM from a dealer then a private seller?
And there is a private seller with a 2003 silver MM for $8000 but with 120,000mi. Would it be worth it, if its in excellent condition?
Or buy a 2004 from a dealer with 60,000mi for $14,000?
The only other car I am considering is a Town car 2005-2006.
Thanks for any input.

The 03 is pretty cheap. The 04 is price right. The 04 has a better transmission and does not have the posable spark plug threading problem like the 03. The 03 is a better buy all-round if it all checks out

really just depends on what you feel comfortable with any room on price? which seem to in line. I have 05 marquis with no regrets it's been outstanding trouble free car cousin to the marauder with almost same parts in many of area leaving room for upgrades. Go with your heart and what you can afford. nothing wrong with a town car from 05 and up ford made some good changes.

i would get the silver if its up to snuff, and not in need of major repairs you may be able to negotiate a lower price

Thanks Guys.
This is a frustrating decision for me. I lost a blue one by just days.
Yes, there are many excellent silver MM's out there @ $14000-$15000.
And 2004 is a better car as far as what I have read.
With $15000, If I like the $8000 03 I could do a lot in mods.

if your plan is to mod the hell out of it then id def go that route
i wouldnt say the 04 is a much better car. as with any new car the first model years always have a few bugs. with the money left over you could have any of those bugs fixed and have a faster car then the 04 would be if all you spent total was 15k.

If your planning on modding the car I would do the 03. If it checks out then why not.

Impala,
He called me back and said that DE is about 30-45 min from where he is at.
If you are still interested, he said it would be fine to come today or tomorrow especially today.
He will let you drive it of course. I will send more info in a PM to you.

Dave is definetly a guy you want to go ck it out if possible, If there's a problem hell find it. The price on the 03 is pretty good for that color.

How does the spark plug threading problem differ ?
Do the '04 heads offer additional thread engagement ?
Many thanks in advance.

Cams, Mauauder 80 mm MAF, long tube headers, 3500 stall, tune on the stock 2V will get ya about 300rwhp. Then go hunting down N/A Marauders

Spend $2,000 - $3,000 for mods and the car will be on par with a stock MM... :shake:

Stock Marauders have 300 RWHP???
Not exactly :)
How much would it cost to get a N/A Marauder into the 13's

Sorry, missed the "rw"hp. :o
03mmmonore is running 13.7's with his car, he's set up with a tune, UD pullies, 4.10s, CAI, SW headers and high flow exhaust. I could be wrong, but I doubt a 2V motor with the same mods will touch him.

All I want now is factory HID's and dual exhaust.
Kooks LT's did cross my mind but....I want to keep it quiet.

Duh!!! It came with dual exhaust LOL! I haven't looked. Well then, thats one less thing I have to spend money on.

Town cars 03 up all have dual exhaust I think, Ford keeps switching back and forth on that.
The Stainless works headers will meet up with the factory cat back!!
2V need a Cam upgrade to see the 13's NA, Hitech Stage II which also need a high stall converter.
