I had p0171 and p0174 on my 04 but they did not come back after clearing. I did clean my MAF and reset the PCM and WOW it ran so much better. Over 7K miles since and not one code yet.

Always check the simplest and cheapest causes first. One can of Electrical Contact cleaner (they even sell the same stuff as MAF cleaner for $1 more now) and a set of Tamper proof Torx bits (you will need them in other spots in the car) and you can clean the wires on your MAF.

Nothing to do with the cats...... the PCM is getting this info way before the cats.
