Has anyone used the paintless dent repair tool...the one where it comes with a glue gun to glue a disc on a threaded post, stick it over dent then after 8 minutes of setting you attach a bridge type attachment that the post goes threw..you screw on a turning knob and try to pull the dent out??? I can't seem to get the small ding out...

I paid the paintless repair guy on My Mk8.
He charged me $150 for 6 dents, 4 on 1 side and 2 on the other.
Came out perfect. I wouldn't even consider buying a tool when you can get someone that does that type of repair day in and day out for such a small amount of money.
I have more tools than I can store now.

I never used a dent puller. I got my first door crease a couple of months ago, about 3" long, 1/4 inch deep. I looked into doing it myself with the "Dent Doctor" about 20.00. After reading about it and the reviews, I just bit the bullet and went to Dent Pros, local company. It took him five minutes and the crease was gone......60.00. After seeing all the dent removal tools he had in his shop, and all the before and after pictures he had hanging in the waiting room, I realized there's more to dent removal than I thought. There's a lot to be said for having a "pro" fix.
The ding removal technique is an Mystic Art form. My Mystic took out five dents.
One he had to drill through the rear door jam to reach the quarter panel. Then he plugs the hole with a filler grommet, not even noticeable.

Hail damage 98 dents/dings was fixed by them on a van I used to have. Came out perfect. Let them do it.

I tried the on "As seen on TV" by Billy Mays glue dent puller. Didn't do a damn thing. Took it back to Pep Boys.
Also tried the heat/freezing thing. Also did not work.

Thanks for all the replies, et al. I got the first small door dent (less than the size of a dime) on my 23,000 mile '04 MM last week in the local grocery store parking lot here, even though I parked AWAY from all the other cars...EXPLETIVE DELETED!!!
I was going to get one of those mail order kits to try to fix it but...I think now I will have a 'pro' do the job after reading these comments. There are several of these shops in Austin so I will check them out.

I've used Pops-a-dent on both my cars. Worked good for taking out larger dents. Popped right back into shape.

I manage a auto body repair shop and still have the paintless dent repair guy come by from time to time because paint material just cost too damn much.
