Did anyone get any shots of the old MM's that were parked even farther out in the boonies than we were (any every one else not in a Mustang)? Carlisle really needs to start thinking about a Mustangs only show like they do for Corvettes.

Whose DTR's? Most of the other cars I can tell who's who.

I believe OffRoadKarter had one and there was a low miles, extremely clean one at the bottom of the hill owned by Ron Muko who just joined the site in April. He was there with his daughter and their pup. He won "Judge's Choice" prize. It was NIIIICE! I have a pic of it that I'll post up later.

We missed you Joe, Hope to see you at MV9.

According to Val we had 47 registered and 36 cars show up. Not too shabby. That means we get the tent for free again next year.

I think next year we may have to organize the Carlisle ballot voting. Out of the 3 of us that won, we only had 45 votes combined for all 3 of us.

WE MISSED YOU PAUL!!! I can't tell you how many times Paul & Tommy said "I wish Krytin was here :(".

I actually saw a few spectators with their yellow voting sheets come by the cars. But I'm sure we would've had more is it weren't for our placement.

From the pictures, the location had a great view and probably a nice breeze, but it definitely is not in the heart of the show field.
IIRC the back side of the hill slopes down towards the Interstate and hardly anyone wanders over that far.

I don't know of one person from our group who made it down the hill to turn in a ballot. I think all the votes we received were from foot traffic and other guys who were also exiled to the top of the hill. The weather was very comfortable, not boiling hot like other years so it was not too bad being up there. Even the rain wasn't all that bad.
Just the gangsta lean you have to do while walking down the hill was a bit uncomfortable.

Hey Jon what color/size extras do you have and how much? Interested in a black medium.

Paul & I have the extras but I don't think there are any Mediums left over :(.

I believe Paul will post up all the leftover sizes in the T-shirt thread later tonight so we'll have a better idea.

Mr. Man

The lower field for the most part was nothing but Mustang's. I saw the Mercur guys and a couple of Escorts and Capri's down there but not much else. T-birds and a few Lincoln Mark series were at the very bottom of the hill, and yes the hill is as steep as it looks in the pics. Everyone else was segregated to the boonies and like Paul said not a lot of brave souls that were willing to make the climb.
I think Carlisle needs to have a big Mustang show like they do for Corvettes. Most of the vendors who show up are Mustang related and when I spoke to them about the Marauder they weren't even interested as the Mustang supply line was making them all their money. Exception was Redline tuning. I inquired about hood supports in Chrome and they said if someone could get them the pressure rating and all the related info they would be willing to look into it. Paul Casey if your out there they remembered you and they said you were a good guy to deal with so if you want to work on this project I got the ball rolling for you.
Ms. D and I had a great time and hope to see ya'll again at MV9!

I let Francisco do the yellow sheet voting because he wanted to go walking around looking @ every thing. The only voting I did was for our trophy's and I know he turned it in on time before he came back up the hill.
One of his old supervisors from his factory was a Carlisle Judge this year and was looking @ all of our cars pretty close and loved them! He had seen mine before and could not wait to see what others had done. He was very impressed to say the least.

If we are getting the same location on the show field next year, can we have advanced notice. I may want to install 4 wheel drive and a lift kit for the off-road experience.
The four wheeler, off road cars, were down the hill, and we had their event near us. Am I missing something in this logic?????

Location could've been better, but it could've been a lot worse. The Broncos and Pick Ups were on the downside of the back of the big hill. At least we had a view over looking the place.

2013 will be the tenth anniversary for the Marauder. We should get that Pinto spot!

According to Val we had 47 registered and 36 cars show up...

I think next year we may have to organize the Carlisle ballot voting. Out of the 3 of us that won, we only had 45 votes combined for all 3 of us.

Does anyone think that a typical person doing the Carlisle ballot is going to spend the time to look at all 36 Marauders and decide which one is the best one to vote for? Just trying to go up and down that steep hill for a "second look" at a tie breaker is more effort than it's worth for most people. The Carlisle ballot system at the All Fords Show is flawed from the start. Even if you wanted to vote on all the classes on both sides of the ballot, you'd never have enough time to really see all the cars you're voting on...

Lolol! Hey, what were they taping you for and when will it be airing/channel/etc...???

For those of you whom don't know...
I took my #113 Qvale Mangusta of 276 made in the world to the all-Ford nationals at Carisle this year... I typically bring my 04 Mercury Marauder but it was not ready to go in a show yet this year...
While at the show I was approached by a tv crew & they wanted to do a clip on the Qvale... I of course said sure... As it turns out this isn't for some local new program but they were filming for Fox Sports Network. (FSN) It will be used on a later in the season episode of the Lokar Car Show. It is on Sunday mornings in the summer into the fall...
This is a good thing for all Qvale's out there... perhaps next time someone will say's to a Mangusta, "you know I think I saw one of these on a tv show once... & instead of saying no... they may have actually seen one before... It should be a about a 3-4min clip... They had me explain some history of the car & operate its roof.. Rotoroof(TM)

Actually the F150 was the one with only a quick delay between the blow outs the Grand Torino took a bit before the heat blew out the other tire.

How was it orgainized? Did they line everyone up and run them through town? Went well? Was there a point where everyone parked or was it just a lap? Did you feel like you stuck in this thing at all?

I know some members were not too keen on this as it was the first time running and we've all been fustrated at some point or another with the way Carlisle parks cars let alone moves them through a small town.

Thanks for reppin! Vid showed a pretty smooth deal.

Best,
Jonathan

It went very smoothly. They had all participants meet and line up in an empty parking lot and all the streets we were on had been cordoned off. We went three wide through town and then parked in the downtown area just as we paraded in...three wide. Once we parked you could have hung out and gotten a bite to eat or leave. Plenty of room to get cars out. The whole downtown area was blocked off and manned to prevent anyone from going around barriers unless you wanted to leave. It was short and slow moving, but I got to meet some cool people and say I was in the very first Carlisle ford parade .....whooopeeee! Anyway, maybe next year we can represent our passion for our cars by putting a big contingent out there.
