As title says ive barely driven my car. I bought a new triumph thruxton and have been riding it and tinkering. I still start my car every other day. As long as I keep maint is there anything I need to look for or worry about. It only has 58,000 miles on it and I want to keep it nice and tight. I just had the 60k svc done too.

Don't start it up every other day unless you are going to run it long enough to get the oil up to full temp, that means actually driving it or a good 30+ min of idling. Lots of almost warmed up and shut off promotes condensation and that condensation promotes acid formation in the oil. So I'd recommend changing to firing it up only once a week or every other week and taking it for a drive that lasts at least 15-20 minutes after the temp gauge reaches normal operating temps. That will also boil any condensation out of the trans and axle. It will also help keep the tires from forming flat spots and the flexing promotes the migration of the polymers from the core to replace those that have evaporated from the surface making the surface rubber hard and reducing the traction.

You guys should give me your cars since you don't use them. They take up space. They cost you insurance money. You have to constantly worry are the kids or wife going to bump or scratch the car while parked in the garage. Having to clean wax & care for it on your already busy schedules.

I agree... cars are made to be driven.

Very true however in my cast the place where I work is a dust bowl:help:

Gravel lot and tons of dust then mud when it rains:eek::eek::eek:

That's why Ford made pick-up....

Good advice.....you will also fill the exhaust with water if you don't drive it and get it HOT!!:shake: Not sure about the tires advice though??

I have put 15K on mine since Late August 2010

And that was even with 3K put on the winter beater with the Marauder buried in Snow for 2 months.

Fixing the AC on the Lincoln beater so I can drive it to work more and reduce the mileage assault on the Marauder

Bought and picked up my MM on 11 March with 57.5K; 1800 mile trip to bring it home from NM to SC....it now has 64.2K. Going to Wilmingon, NC tomorrow to meet fastblackmerc so he can fix my o-rings and swap my LCM...300 mile round-trip. Will be going on a ~2800 mi road trip starting next week...SC to NC to GA to WI and back.

Maybe when I hit 100K, I'll slow down a little...maybe. I've never owned a car that I love to drive as much as my MM. IMO, having a MM and never driving it is like having (insert favorite hot-azz woman here, or guy, for the ladies) as your girlfriend/wife and never kissing her...amongst other things.

500 a year? 21 a year ... wow ... I average 400 a week in the Marauder and I drive a truck at least once a week. I am like BigDog, the Marauder does not get driven on a dirt/gravel parking lot ... that is what the truck is for.

As to the original question, lots of good advice in this thread already.

I haven't even started mine in 2 months, let alone driven it. Make me a offer, you can drive it all you like then.......
