How's it going guys.... I've notice some noise coining from the rear axle it's a humming type noise I'm pretty sure it's the axle bearings... Also my posi no longer works I'm taking to a rear end shop in the near future... How much would the repair run me for... Anybody hear dealt with this before ... My guess is new rear axle bearings and rebuilding the clutch packs in the diff.. ?... I wonder how much$$$ Is gonna be involved thanks in advance

sounds like an axle bearing, hope the axle its self isnt bad, as for labor it depends on the shop you choose, and what there rates are, most of your bill is going to be labor.

Clutches can make horrible noises on their way out. An hour or two labor is realistic plus parts.

If the axle itself was bad wouldn't there be a vibration??I know the 03 are known for bad axles ...

Not necessarily. The passenger-side axle in Phoebe made lots of noise, but there was no other symptom.

Parts are cheap, factor in 2-3 hours labor from a shop and it will probably be a little over $500-$600 by the time you're done.

+1, we just did two 4:10 installs with complete bearing replacement and both were around 5 hrs labor. Both rear ends are as quiet as they were coming out of the factory (if not quieter!)
