I read the thread in the "Reviews" section on replacing the sender and guage, but the pictures don't show up. Does anyone have a breakdown of how to do this WITH pics?
Also, one of the members posted that all we really need is the different sender. The OEM guage will read just fine. It's an Autometer guage anyway. Is this the case?

OEM guage is a glorified idiot light.

Incorrect, The OEM gauge will sweep very slow with just a sender change. Both gauge and sender must be replaced . I already tried that thinking I could save some time.

When I did Phil's (dakslim), I replaced the sender, cut the wires from the back of the OEM gauges (left enough in case someone wanted to reuse them), soldered on female spade connectors and connected them. I'll have to look at the wiring diagram for the correct wires. Don't cut the light sockets off, you can reuse them. I put green LED bulbs in place on the incandescent bulbs. You'll see why once you take out the gauge pod.

The White/Pink wire is the signal lead from the sender.

I got tired of replacing sending units and switched to a mechanical gauge.
