gear expected mileage?

I'm deciding between 3.73 and 4.10. Is gas mileage between the 2 big enough for concern? It's noy daily drivin and less than 30% is interstate

Difference between the stock 3.55s and 4.10s will be between 1 and (max) 2 mpg.

Before I went SC, I was averaging less than a mpg difference on my car with the 4.10s over the OEMs.

That said, the improvement in performance after going to 4.10s was substantial.

IMO, the two best mods you can do to your car starting out are 4.10 gears and a tune.

4.10 should be the only option. Now if you had a 2v motor 3.73 gears would be okay cause it's a lower end torque producing motor.

I just did the 4:10 install and did a manual mileage calculation on the hwy afterwards - 21MPG with some spirited passes and a couple of burnouts. You'll be fine with 4:10's.

I see 22.5 mpg with 4.10s on the highway. Not great, but then again its a lot quicker, roomier and more comfortable riding than my 34 mpg Aveo 5 dr. -and- it has AC and ATX. I will give drivers seat comfort to the Aveo though... I never have been impressed with the driver's seat in the MM. Not enough support for those of us with spine problems.

I got 4.10's on a Daily Driver and I regularly see 20 a gal, and on road trips, she's gotten as much as 24 or 25. In other words, do it,no need to worry about gas, you're talking $5 a tank at most, but the feeling you'll get when you drive it? Priceless
