View Full Version : Cruise nite Win
Mr. Man
06-16-2011, 08:07 PM
My '03 black won it's first and hopefully not last trophy ( plaque's for this year) for Sponsors Choice(Advance Auto)
Of course there had to be some A-hole who mumbles 'it's just a Marquis with a cop motor what so special about that' So I being the bigger gentleman:rolleyes: (literally and figuratively) ignored him and accepted my plaque with grace and aplomb. Always got to be some D-bag who most likely brought one of the 50 '69 SS Camaro's(sarcasm)and can't figure why he didn't win.
The other winner brought a 1901 Locomobile. What a neat carriage/car. Looked like a plumber put the motor together and the tiller steering was a hoot. Guy had a huge drip pan under it as it leaked from everywhere. He said it was a 20/20 car and when asked what does that mean he said 20mph for 20 miles then it needed refills on water and oil. It burned kerosene so wasn't as likely to catch fire like the Stanley Steamers.
Congrats big daddy!!! :trophy1: :banana2:

"Just a Grand Marquis with a cop motor ...". Yeah, right. :shake: Sour grapes and not really an expert on cars either. :P It is easy to blow off an ill-informed comment like ^^^^^ this.

I usually go to the Cruise nites (and take my car too), but I couldn't go last night. :( I'll get out the camera and take a pic of Himself, his Marauder and his trophpy when the sun comes out again. (It's raining today.)

Let me guess......:hmmm:......it was a red '69 Camaro with an extrememly rare 350 SBC!!??
Heck, they only made 90 MILLION SBCs!
BTW: That's no bull....90 MILLION.
Anyway, Congrats on your win/trophy Eric!

Congrats as it is well-deserved, and way to represent the Marauder community.

Going to need way more bling for this crowd. I suppose if only the four of us organizers show I have a chance:lol:
ToyotaCorolla.SHT, I'll have to check that one out. Since Tom is new to their club his car is probably close to the top of the "pile"
Hope your still wearing your flame suit Tom it's going to be a while before the heats off;):P:)

That's what this was Ray. Weekly Thursday nite cruise at Lowe's/Wendy's in Hackettstown NJ. I try to do two or three cruise nite a week. Not all have awards but winning one is really just icing. I like to go to different ones each week but I usually hit the H-town one every week 'cause it's close. I haven't done to many car shows but this year I hope to do a few, Two Ford power shows being put on by Joe Signorelli(sp) and his Mustang crowd this year and I hope to hit both. Joe also has a SB and was at Carlisle with it.
Usually depends on the weather as to my interest in sitting all day at a car show.
Ray type in cruise/car shows 2011 in (wherever you live, big town near by) and see what you get.:)

Very cool Mr. Man! Congrats!
I want to enter my MM in some shows but I have to get my front bumper painted first. It's kind of embarrassing with all the rock chips and rattle can touch ups. Then tint my windows and I'm ready!:banana2:

Well, I'm a perfectionist, so I always fret about the smallest things. But my front bumper really is pretty pathetic.............:puke:
