Very close to factory size for the rears. 2 summers only on brand new BFG KDWS with just a couple of burn outs and they barely passed inspection. (read: bald)

Discount tire direct.com

$370 at my door for two rear tires.

I've heard great things about these. No 255 truck tires for me! :burnout:

I had them on the rear of my 04 SB. I currently have them on the front of my DPB. They will be put on the rear of the DPB once I burn on the stock KDW's.

I did get the 265/50/18.

As for balding, 3 kids at home, can't burn that money up-in a couple of sittings. I've got ~12 on the rears now. Give ms another 3 months or so, then the Nitto's will be on board.

I have those tires on my Marauder Front (255's) & rear (295's). They have a hard compound, make the car ride a little harder, but they do last a while . I found that after they are 1/2 way worn down they don't grip as good. I for one will replace them with something else in the future. But many other members love them. Being your in New York & have some bad winters I'd ask around about how they perform in the cold & snow etc.

nittos 555 are summer performance tires, nitto does not recommend these tires for winter weather, nor would i use them in the snow, they turn into slippery glass bricks! in cold weather:eek:

I do run the 555's years around but in my case I noticed that when they get about 1/2 way down they don't grip like they use too . I have the Nitto 295 555's on the rear and When I'm doing 45-50 MPH driving down the road and I punch it I spin the rear tires. Also they are a hard riding tire due to the compound. But they do last a long time for the most part.

How do you think these tires would do on an Auto-X course? I see the UTQG number is 300, which is a little harder than I'd like. Anyone with these tires take any hard corners? How does the handling compare to the stock BFG's? Thanks, Curt

They have a stiff side wall & are a Hard Compound tire , they will last longer / wear better then alot of other tires. If your the type of person who like's to smoke your tires & leave tire marks on the street these tires only leave light marks on the street & don't smoke up as nicely as others. But keep in mind they are a Summer High Performance Tire.

How long did the 555 take to wear 1/2 way down? My factory KDWS wore all the way down in 2 summers, and I didn't punish them.

My stock BFG's when worn we like driving with slicks. From my research the 555 can get a little squirrely in the rain.

I went with the 420S about a month ago on the rear (255/55). They really grip out of the hole. Still researching my winter options. Would like to go with a 17" rim compared to the smaller 16"

I put them on on Dec.14,2007 with 25,500 miles on the car. I Now have 34800 miles on the marauder. The rear's are almost 1/2 down. The front have alot of rubber on them still . I put approx 9300 miles on them so far , but i did a few burn outs with them , nothing major .

Very good, nice and stiff sidewall minimal flex. As stiff as factory sidewall yet they feel a bit softer, and are quieter than factory worn rears. (mine were only 2 summers old) NOT A "TRUCK" TIRE!

BTW Mike those shots of your car look fantastic.
