Ok I wanna get some input here cuz I have a slight problem. :help:I purchased a ported and polished throttle body to use on my MM. The throttle body came off of an 03-04 Cobra. I asked around and I was told that it would work, which it did until I went to hook up the kickdown cable and it was about 1/4 inch too short to go over the stud without making the butterflies open and race the motor:mad2:. This is the only problem. Anyone have this same problem??? What would the solution be? I'm thinking about taking the bracket that holds the cables off and trying to heat it and beat the kickdown cable area of it slightly farther than the accelerator cable so it can hook up with out opening the throttle. Any other suggestions?

No problems with mine. Had a Termi one, now have an Accufab one. Nothing like your problem, though. I think a photo would help, perhaps the routing is off?

Hmmm...not real good with posting pics. Had to take the new throttle body off but the end of the kickdown cable just touched up against the nipple that it sit on. The connection point seems to sit just a shade too far forward and keeps the butterflies open.

Yea this is just a stock 03-04 cobra throttle body. I just don't get it. It bolts up just fine but the nipple that the kickdown cable snaps onto on the throttle body is just a few centimeters too far forward and when hooked up it causes the butterflies to stay open. Might have to take the cable bracket off and try to bend the end that houses the kickdown cable a little bit forward. I dunno, I'm just confused and angered:confused::mad2:

The COBRA throttle body does have a different attachment point for the CRUISE CONTROL cable. You would have to change the plastic cam on the cobra TB or make a bracket to hold the cable closer to the TB. Making a new cable mount is probably safer than swappin the cam.

Chris, can you leave the CC cable tied back and unconnected?

Yeah, just won't have cruise control.;) But whatever you do DON'T unplug and remove the cruise control motor. A whole bunch of other stuff runs power thru it. Don't ask me how I know.:)
Here's some pics you can see the plastic nub is closer to the throttle cable on the cobra than the marauder.
One of the mustang TB's work tho. I think it's the mach one.

Fab a new bracket for the cable so it fits.
I had to do this for the throttle cable on my '04 CV when I put the Mustang 78mm BBK T/B on it.
Just check the cable fit/tension with the OEM T/B and make it the same when you fab the new bracket for the new T/B!
