Anybody else ever noticed this? For a while a year or so ago I noticed a popping sound when I'd first sit in the seat...springs popping...that eventually stopped, but it feels like there is a lot less support in the center of the seat now than there once was. Dealer suggested new bottom seat pad but that did not make much difference...now suggesting an aluminum insert...racing seat style...over the springs/below the seat pad...anybody done this? What was result?

So you had a new seat bottom cushion installed and it made no difference?

I often feel like I'm leaning to the left when I drive Ms.D's SB. We have a new cushion but haven't installed it yet. My Black feels straight but it doesn't have much seat time in it yet, so we'll see over time.
Some member's who drag race have installed racing seats. I'll let them chime in as to comfort and such.

Never even thought my checks might be uneven. Have to look into that. Thanks for the tip:up: Did you have the same issue :dunno: and learned the answer through experience:P
No more BK in the MM:bigcry:

8 years and no seat issues:) Pretty much one of the biggest members here:) Just don't "flop" into the seat when you get in.

+1 on not flopping down onto the seat.
Take it easy! Be gentle & it will last a little bit longer. On the other hand, nothing last forever!

Appreciate all of the feedback...for the record, I only weigh 155 pounds and I truly baby my car...including when I enter and exit...so the issue is not driver inflicted...

Just curious..did you install the replacement cushion yourself and if so was it a difficult DY project? Got one siting here waiting to go in.

I had the lower seat cushion replaced at the dealership. Since I indicated that I was not happy with the outcome (i.e. no difference, and the seat cushion recommendation was theirs) they are going to do the aluminum insert for me at no additional cost. I guess they take the Ford customer satisfaction surveys pretty seriously...

If Ford has any one real complaint to take care of, it is the quality and durability of their seat frames and cushions. All of my Mustangs (9) have had the seats replaced with aftermarket because the spot welds break. My 1992 Crown Vic had the driver seat replaced because of the same issue...cheap weld jobs. I replaced the frame, and sold the car. The Marauder driver seat back seems to lean to the right from time to time...the spot weld symptom. Here we go again....
