Those Marauder Leather coats on E-Bay

Well I bought one of this gentlemen made him a fair offer and he accepted.

What I wanted to let everyone know is IT IS the same as the one they offered with a new MM purchase. Well just got it and cant be happier guess why the patch on the inside says MADE EXCLUSIVELY FOR MERCURY MARAUDER OWNERS. Not what his photo on e-bay said made exclusively for Mercury Marauder. So in short this not the one anyone could buy out of Beanstalk catalog. This is a true original that came with new MM purchase. I would suggest anyone looking for one to ck and see if he has any left. He was good to deal with and 3-day shipping.:beer:

Are we talking about that guy in Battle Axe Michigan who is selling the jackets on ebay? I bought one from him about 6 months or more ago and got it with no owners. I'd like to get another one with the "owners" on the tag. One to wear and one to store. :) If he has any with the "owners" on it, I'd definately be interested.

I can also confirm this - got mine last year and it's brand new, with the patch, and includes a cover as well for long-term storage with the God's Head emblem on it. Mine came from a Ford dealer selling stuff on eBay - they must have just had a bunch left over. HIGHLY recommend getting it to complete your Marauder if you didn't get it brand new - I swear the car accelerates harder when the driver is wearing it! :)

Something about this doesn't sit well. There were a whole bunch of new owners back in 2003 and 2004 who couldn't or didn't get their leather jackets. There was alot of wrangling with Mercury and Beanstalk for these owners. Some were successful. Others were not. The jacket was intended to go to Marauder Owners. It looks like some didn't.

Now 7 years later a bunch of jackets appear on E-Bay from someone who was a dealer, associated with a dealer, or possibly had connections with Beanstalk the distributor of the jackets.

If I didn't get mine .... I would be PO'd at this development. It sure raises some questions ..... especially if the tags says "Exclusively for Marauder Owners" .... not dealers, not distributors.

Must be a 7 year Statute of Limitations. This smells ..... :( Maybe they were all just "extra" jackets. Yeah, that's it ... they were EXTRA jackets.

I am sure there were jackets made in advance for an 'estimated' number of Marauder owners that would take advantage of the offer from Mercury.

It took me about 3 days to get mine once I hung up the phone after ordering. Hence, already made and waiting to ship to my doorstep.

Based upon that, somehow, somewhere, a Dealer got ahold of the 'remaining' jackets and offered them on eBay.

Legally or not.

They are out there for the taking if people (Marauder owners or otherwise) have the extra scratch to get them.

If I could toss away several hundred on another jacket I already have, I would do so.

Not in the cards for me right now.

Considering how skinny you are I'm not sure it's possible in your case to have ass less chaps, assuming you'd wear them like pants and not as a hat:D

Could not agree more Mike whatever did or didnt happen? Is the seller to blame? We dont know the true story and the fact its seven years later. I for one am just happy to get another chance to acquire one for a good price rather then from a member who sold there MM or whatever the case and have to pay double that for it. I agree something happened. What it was? Nobody will ever know. Heck on MCM a few years ago a stash of these came up for sale also What was the deal then? Seems like MCM & Ford have always had a strong connection. people in any business have connections he could have been offered these from someone else in the type of business. Iam just happy this came up at a moment were I was in a position to purchase one.

Its not that. Just a bit odd the jackets showed up when so many owners were denied during the purchasing of their Marauders. I think it is great all owners have a shot at getting one of these new.

I agree with you Mike! Something OD! Its 7 yrs later and If my memory is correct when quite a few came up for sale on MCM a few years back there just wasnt so much questioning. My reason for posting 10 min after I got it was to let all the fellow members know about it to hopefully get a chance to get one. I guess if I was one of the ones that never got one originally I would be upset to. I think the whole deal is strange from the start, 80% of the dealers never mad metion of it at time of purchase,most likely cause they were never informed themselves by Ford??? Then 6 months later the guy at Ford handling things is gone?
