I hadnt been in chat in a while....usually because my Wednesdays are busy and hectic....so chat is a smiley page now? No shout box and now no chat.....Guess they werent being used anymore.:(

I haven't visited CHAT is so long that I forgot it was there. Looks like there is an incorrect link to the "Smilie Listing" page instead of Chat. Maybe this happened in the last upgrade. :dunno:

I miss the shout box, but couldn't care less about Chat. I was dropping in pretty regular on Wednesdays, but rarely was there anyone there.

Along with other custom mods to the website, Chat was turned off when we were having posting issues to help isolate the problem. We can look to turning Chat back on as long as there's than updated version and is supported by it's creator.

I never found "Chat" or the "Shout Box" particularly useful to the site.

I never found it to be particularly "entertaining" either. Of course, I don't watch reality TV, American Idol, Sex in the City, Conan O'Brian, or Jersey Shore .... so my guess at what is entertaining is probably skewed. ;)

The biggest problem with all the "add-ons" is their compatibility with the vBulletin version we're running, and whether the "add-on" is actively supported. Last Shout Box was no longer supported and upgraded as vBulletin did their upgrades. This causes other issues that have more impact on the operation of the website.

I will look to see how updated Chat is and turn back on, if it's current. Aftr I do that, let me know if some of the gremlins reappear, such as posting issues.

Ask the Creator about Chit. Chat is nothing without Chit. Chit got left out and feels discriminated against.

OK - I reactivated (Chit) Chat. If anyone experiences any posting issues from this point forward, let me know. This Chat modification is no longer supported so if it does cause problems, there's most likely no fix and we'll have to research other options. Again, the more outdated or imcompatible an "add-on" is, the more problems it causes with the vBulletin software.
