I count on my MM to take me 175 miles/day and enjoy every minute! As my MM approaches 125K miles, I am looking for a reputable shop (Gainesville, VA area) to give her good check-up and ensure she continues to operate at peak levels. When I was in FL, Dennis Rinehart did most of my work.

I am also considering a SC upgrade to my current NA engine, but have concerns about the current miles and what the upgrade might do to my current daily-driver dependability.

Thoughts from the group???

I've rolled just over 100,000 miles, blower and parts are sitting in garage, I will probably have 110,000 miles when I get around to it. Can't wait! :beer:

Good idea to make sure your higher mileage car is in primo operating order before considering boost.. My advice would be to take it to a shop like Reinhardts(Fla) or Lido's place in Mich(?) because they are familiar with the MM engine and the parts that wear and the one's that typically don't. Then you will know you can drive your boosted MM for many trouble free miles.:)

Marauderjack has close to 200K on his car, SC'd for over 100K miles, IIRC.

PM Blown 3.8, he's in VA and may be able to help you out, or try ImpalaSlayer; he's in DE and did the Eaton swap on my car.

I just checked in with Z___ about the mileage on my car, and the risk of S/Cing it. He said to go for it. I am at 103k and I drive my car pretty aggressively...

Correction.....I have over 227,000 miles on the car and about 144,000 with the Supercharger!!:beer:

Original engine burns no oil (puffs a bit on start-up every now and then)......rebuilt the trans at 160,000....rear end at 177,000!!:D

Best car I've ever owned!!:beer::bows:

You can build a brand new motor with a blower and grenade it immediately......ya never know?? I say if your motor runs well......GO FOR IT and re-build it IF it blows!!;)

Thanks for the input! I feel much better about s/c-ing with my current mileage. My car is running great right now & I'm averaging 22 mpg on my daily commute!

It's been over a year since I've had the car looked at, other than oil changes and a state inspection. Would like to get her to a shop where I can get her looked at to avoid something breaking during my drive; a trusted place for preventive and corrective maintenance on MM's.

Does anyone know of a shop in the Gainesville area?

I can hit up Dennis or other trusted vendor later in the year for the s/c!

Have an oil and trans fluid analysis.

S/C does not increase the peak load on an engine over stock, what an S/C does is increase the duration of the peak load.

Increasing the duration of the peak load also increases the duration of any tuning issues such as knock knock knock whose motor is not there!
