Greetings to all the MN Trilogy MMs. I was wondering how many of you are using the stock tune provided with the kit and how many have had someone make a tune for you. Finally got 214 to stop losing blower oil and the mileage isn't quite what I think it should be (not that I built it or bought it for mileage). Just curious. Thanks for your time. Hope to see most of you on the 9th.

All cars will be different, the kit comes with a base tune, I would recommend a tune on a dyno, Lidio did my last one about 2 weeks ago.

If you want to get the full potential from the trilogy you must have your vehicle dynotuned. Also to make sure everything is working correctly.

Hi Dave,
Ditto on the Dyno Tuning. There are two good shops up here.
DB Performance on Rogers.

Hitech Motor Sports in Elk River.

Not sure about dyno shops in your area. I would recommend a shop that has experience with Ford's and blowers.
Not sure if you are a member of MNFords.
www.mnfords.com (http://www.mnfords.com)
There are a lot of Mustang Cobra owners that might be able to give you some assistance.
Thanks,
Curt

The Trilogy kit has Lidios DNA in it. I highly recommend bringing it back to him for the tune. I've driven from MD to have his expert hand work on my car.
Lidio did my last one about 2 weeks ago.
What were your results??? :D :D :D

Thanks for the input. It sounds like it's time for a dyno tune. I talked with Lidio briefly and the only downfall is the time it will take to get there and back is more time than I can do right now. As far as tuners here, thats limited. The next bet is DB Tuning.I have spoke with him in the past and I am leaning toward setting up a time with him. ( 2 hour drive versus 13 one way). We'll see what happens.

I am running the stock tune. I believe Ellis is running stock tune and MROGERC, NFive0 and Dave Johnson? are running custom tunes (all these guys have a bunch of mods beyond the stock Trilogy kit)
My mileage varies from about 15/16 mpg for short trips and 20/21 for long trips. Stock gears, I think the 4.10 will knock you down 1-2mpg. I have got a low of 4.8 mpg up at Brainerd

Jeremy, you and I have the same combo. Bone stock. The mileage is about the same. I don't forsee any mods other than maybe a 3.2 pulley. That way the hood liner doesn't get eaten up. The stock tune will cover this change though. If I do get it dyno tuned, I am going to plumb the FRPS to see boost now that the tuning can accomodate this. My understanding is that when this program was first developed, this couldn't be programmed, but now with the change in technology, it can be done.

If you keep the stock tune then you have no idea what your missing out on. I have been at 445 for a year and a half now with the only mods being a 3.2, MAFia, conical air filter, lightning MAF, and a single Walbro pump. My tuner wouldn't offer a before run, but the difference was nothing short of INCREDIBLE. I had to have picked up a very easy 75/80 HP.
