Today I installed a remote control LED setup for the engine compartment. Took me about 3 hours to install including a run to the store and taking my time to be sure my connections are secure and clean. My goal was to have the lights hidden in plain site. I installed the on/off switch under the hood hidden as well and the features of the kit are all powered by a remote. I can turn the lights on solid with 3 different dimmer settings, I can make them strobe in 2 different speeds and I can use a feature called "breathe" where the lights will go from dim to bright to give it a breathing effect. The kit comes with 14 light pods that contain 6 ultra bright LEDs. I think using all 14 pods would have been overkill and took away from the ambient subtle look I was going for so I only used 8 of them.
3 are located on the passenger inner fender well.

2 are located on the drivers side fender well.

And 3 are located above the hood liner.

These are all held on with double sided tape and I didn't drill a single hole in anything. All my wires are loomed and hidden from site. The kit has a control module with a antenna to operate the different functions. I hid that and my fused connections behind the battery.

I went with white lights for the setup to make the polished parts really stand out.
Here's 2 quick video's I took in pitch black. The video's don't do the brightness justice, the light from this is amazing and is exactly how I wanted it to look.

Does this mean that the MV9 Car Show will be an "After Dark" event? ;)

Looks great Paul !! I especially like the ability to go from solid to strobe or dimming.

FastBlackMerc is the go to guy for offering LEDS and setups. I just wanted to do something different and unique for my car.

Yep! MV9 car show has been moved to 7pm. ;)
Thanks! With the remote I can make it do whatever light pattern I choose from over 100ft away with just a click of a button.

Not that I know of. I found a great kit and adapted it for my own custom look.

Thanks for the compliment!

Your ride is getting to be quite untouchable.

Did another engine LED install on my friends Supercoupe. This time I went with 15 pods and tried new angles and ideas. His engine compartment is a bit more cramped so we had to get creative. As you can see in the pic, the lights make the engine look like it does in daylight.
It also inspired me to add some more pods tomorrow to show off the headers and the cam covers a bit more. Ill take video after my install.

That looks really good!

Thanks!

I added 4 more pods to mine, The sides of my engine and the firewall needed some more accent. Now my headers are illuminated as well as the back of the engine compartment. If the weather holds out , Ill take another video and more pics. I have a idea for 2 more pods and that is it. I'd rather stay on the tasteful side of things rather then tacky.

I decided to add 4 more pods to the kit. This time I wanted to illuminate the headers as well as the back of the engine.

These pics were all taken without the flash. This is the light they put off.

I did a install on a friend Supercoupe. They seem to attract all kinds of attention. Especially from bratty little kids that wanna touch! :nono:

This was last night at a local car meet.

Very attention getting. Well hopefully the right attention, not bratty little kids.
