IS IT POSSIBLE TO BUY AND INSTALL A COMPLETE SUPERCHARGER KIT ON A BUDGET??? I AM LOOKING TO SUPERCHARGE MY 04' SB DAILY DRIVER KEEPING THE VEHICLE STOCK OTHER THAN S/C (AND TUNE, CAI, 4.10.... THE LIST KEEP GROWING BUT CURRENTLY IS STOCK). I CAN'T AFFORD TO SPEND 5-7K ON NEW KIT FROM TRILOGY OR DR. I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE USED S/C DEALS BUT I'M NOT SURE WHAT WILL MOUNT UP AND WHAT COMPONENTS ARE MISSING. THANKS DAVE
ANYONE IN NJ LOOKING TO HELP A BROTHER FIREMAN WITH THE INSTALL?:flamer:

Sure look around on the board. There is plenty of info on the eaton swap, and you may even get lucky and run up on a take off. Depends on how resourceful and handy you are.

Keep working and add to the "S/C budget" :)

I have always been leaning towards the air-to-air vortec kit my self.

If all goes right right with my "new' job I hope to S/C by MV-IX. If not well there always next year:)

^^^^ I did mine for about the same, but bought mostly used parts and had ImpalaSlayer did the install for me.

What's your idea of "budget"?

That's what I'm wondering. If a guy really shopped around and did 100% of the fabbing and installation, you could prolly do an Eaton swap for $3,000 to $3,500, but I'd want some cushion to cover unexpected stuff.

A budget (and corresponding funding) of $4,500 would be a reasonable figure.

If he's figuring $2,500... :shake:

I was really hoping it was possible to due a used complete swap for around $2500 but I guess that might not be possible based on your responses.:alone:
Impala is 3500 a realistic number installed or is that for just the parts? I really thought with new kits from DR around 5000, it would be possible to due a used swap for half of that.

On a mod motor, speed = $$$$, how fast and reliable you want it depends on how much $$$ you want to throw at it.

I was able to do a Centrifugal kit For @ $4000 you'll be very hard pressed to supercharge your car for under $3500

that was all the parts and tuned. i installed myself so i didnt have to pay for labor and i already had an xcal 2. you may be able to do it cheaper, it really depends on what kinda deals you find out there on used parts. i bought almost everything used but that was almost 2 years ago.

Not entirely true, you would need adapters for the intake, chop up the wiper box and change the hood for clearance, sort of a direct fit.

IIRC the 07's used a 5.4, hence the adapters for the intake, before I'd do that, I put a 5.4 in. :D

Also, what's included in the "complete" system? Are the fuel injectors, fuel pump, heat exchanger, I/C pump, I/C reservior, lower intake manifold, belts, hoses, pulleys, tensioners, etc. part of the deal? Also, gonna need belt tensioner and alternator brackets, misc other items, so that $500 initial outlay is gonna climb, especially with the custom fab work required for the intake adaptors, unless you've got access to your own machine shop.
