I just cleaned my MAF and IAC on Friday. Today I went to hop in the car to go to work and it never idles down.
It started and idled like normal for a minute or so; then jumped to about 1200 rpms and stayed there. I'm assuming the IAC took a crap but just wanted to confirm before I dropped $100+ for a new one.

Make sure the IAC is installed correctly.
Did you hook up the MAF?
What did you use to clean the MAF & IAC?

There may be some play in the IAC, try loosening the screws and rotating the IAC.

Loosen the hardware that holds the IAC just enough where you got a little wiggle room(it moves ever so slightly while loose) .
Whith the motor warm & running , see if you can bring the idle down a tad by ear .
Tighten the hardware .
Mine was cleaned after it would not idle steady , got better, but within a very short time I replaced it.
Best of luck ,If you do need to replace it , Buy Ford/Motorcraft!:D
PS. I was told By Lonnie Doll that the FI motors go thorugh these a bit faster because of the higher intake pressures .
Edit;
I thought you were s/c , I see that is coming, still 300 RWHP is not far off LOL
I just replaced my IAC for a higher than normal idle. The gasket is very thin and may not be sealing. $1.84 at the dealer. A new IAC is $140.00 at the dealer, try auto parts store, $70.00 or so. The new IAC did fix my problem.

Yup tried playing with it and it seems to have gotten better. I checked all the clamps, vacuum lines, etc... It all appears in order, even tested a couple lines with the vacuum pump and no leaks.
It seems to smooth out a bit once warm (took it out for a quick romp to see if if it just needed to get hot) but it's still not quite right even after tweaking it. Going to let it cool down completely and try it again tonight after it's been sitting for awhile.
I'm going to get some parts for my truck in a bit so I'm just going to pick up another gasket or 2. Figured can't hurt to try cleaning it again, will try intake cleaner this time (what I normally use just didn't have any at the time) and see if maybe I just clogged something the first time. Not sure how strong MAF cleaner is compared to the crud that builds up in there.
If I need a new one I have a hook up at my local The Parts House who can get me OEM parts on the cheap on occasion. Lets me get her discount but I'm not allowed to abuse it.
SC is a little ways off for now, gotta work on the house first. Going to do some side projects in preparation to consume my time and not spend much money. Going to attempt to port and polish a spare intake in my garage and buy a piece at a time as I can.

Think it was just it's time to go. I tried cleaning it again last night with no change.
Just picked up a new Motorcraft unit for $73 and am going to replace tonight if I don't paint it to match first. .

I don't get why two posts mention wiggling the IAC. It's two holes interconnected with a motor and a plunger. One hole traveling before the TB and one after. Wiggling it won't do anything unless you do have a bad gasket/seal. Other than that, wiggling shouldn't do a damn thing unless you're talking about the TPS. Having a blower shouldn't have any effect on lifetime of an IAc either. Since it's only used while your tb is closed, you're allowing the same air to go through it to control idle just as an NA engine would.

I second the motion racerx ,should not make a bit of differance wiggling it.....

Try resetting the computer first. Then buy parts.. Don't assume something is bad, make sure it's bad.. It's cheaper that way.. 73 bucks is a few drinks and a lap dance.. I know what I would rather have...

I've never had much luck cleaning IAC valves.....they work a little better but replacement is always a better fix!!
I've probably had 8 new ones since I bought the car......the blower makes erratic behavior of the IAC valve MUCH worse!!
