My horn on my 03 now has only one tone. Prior it had a blended sound. It is the same mono tone on the remote and when you activate the horn from the steering wheel? Can someon tel me what might be wrong?
Thanks SB

There are two horns. One is not working. They are mounted under the plastic panel by the radiator. Wiggle the wires where they connect to the horns. Hopefully that will do it.

Prolly your Hi or Lo tone horn has gone bad.
Figure which it is by pulling the plug that goes to the horn itself one horn at a time and activate to find the bad one.;)

I've "revived" dead horns before.
(Most are basically a metal diaphragm with a push-pull selenoid to vibrate them.)
I took both horns off my '95 GM when they quit working.
Took the horns apart and sprayed the guts with WD-40, let them soak, dried off the excess WD-40, buttoned them back up, threw them on my 12V battery charger to test 'em....
and they worked great!
In fact, they are now mounted on my '99 Ranger and they are LOUDER than ever!!

Soaked in WD-40? Did they sound like wet duck farts?

LOL....
(I let them drain and dried them first.)
BTW: What, exactly, does a wet duck fart sound like?
This morning I used them to scare the crap out of some ditz in a puke green metallic Honda Excrement who was too busy texting to keep up with traffic in the fast lane of I-695.
As I pulled around the distracted beatch, I let her have a dose of extra loud recycled GM horns!
I think that she dropped her Droid and a loaf in her drawers.
LOL....

My car started the "one tone" thing awhile back....noticed it when hitting the lock on the key fob!!!:argue:
My "fix" that has worked now for several months now was to go out on a desolate road and lay on the horn for 30 seconds or so.......IT BEGAN WORKING AGAIN!!
Not very scientific but...hey, it worked and I didn't have to take them apart!!
Give it a whirl!!:D

That does work!
If you don't use your horn(s) very often they will lose function.
When we were teenage drivers, my brother and I always "exercised" the horns in our parent's cars!
They were seldom used and often sounded pretty weak until we got behind the wheel and really started to "exercise" the horns!
