I need to know how tall, long and wide a our short block engine is. The reason is because I am making a drive from NJ, to Chicago... on the way back someone is selling a short block in Detroit. I won't be in the Marauder, I'll be in a Nissan Altima. I don't know if I can actually fit this short block in the trunk or back seat. So I'll measure the car when I get to it.

If anyone has a link or can measure a short block that's outta the car, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Dom, The shortblock (no cylinder heads) is actually very small on these modular engines.
Should be able to fit it in most sedan's trunks.
Now lifting it over and into the trunk.....that's another matter.
(When the heads are bolted on...that's what makes the engine so huge.)

Yes I am fully aware of that. I've lifted an short block into a truck with another set of hands this past winter, NO FUN ON ICE! I'll bring something so I do not scratch the bumper when loading it in. I know how small it looks, I just wanna measure the car and know the engine for sure. I don't wanna waste a few hours going off route and gas money just to find out I cannot load it. I must know for sure.

I don't see any measurements for the short block, just the whole engine, unless I overlooked something. It's a start.

Thanks! :D

28 in length, is deck height the short block height? A little over 11 inches?

I guess I can ballpark the width with mine.

No,
Deck height is measured from crank centerline to the block/cylinder head mating surface (deck).
Will the short block that you are buying have an oil pan on it.?

Yes it will. I am guessing it will be a difference of five inches, crank to drain plug?

Better yet drop it off a few miles farther East.
