Question? When I start the car, the motor seems to high rev up to 2000 rpm and then goes down to about 1300 rpm. It just sounds like one is pressing the gas and high revving it at starting..I've had the car for 5 days now so I'm still getting used to the diffs. between sohc and dohc. Please tell me if this is right or is the IAC out of adjustment or anything?
Thanks!!!!!

Normal, as long as it's only for a few seconds at start up.

Not to worry, then; that's typical of the Marauder start-up.

That's the first thing us tuners change... ;)

If it goes longer than that....it could be an EGR issue....thats what happend to mine, changed it out and is as good as new now.

The only time when mine didn't have that hefty blip at startup was with a zack tune and the park-idle setting at something like 700rpm. Then it would have a very abrupt start-up, akin to an old muscle car. :D

It's normal for a NA car. If it had a S/C on it then it really doesn't do it so much or as high.

The latest DR and Lidio tunes tame it down too. FYI! :)

I set it even lower than the Zack Tune V2 had it set. My Lidio tune was from like 3 years ago also. :P

It was very annoying with my stock/OEM tune. Lidio tune seems to have "fixed" the problem. Never understood why the factory included it?

Just wondering, do you use ProRacer to tune the car yourself?

Anyone have a part number for the EGR valve for our MM's I think mine may be at fault since I am having start-up problem's, It dosen't fire up the way it should, instead kind of catches and runs like crap for the first few minutes before warming up, after that it seems to run fine. Thanks

Thanks for that, I love this site.
From a post by TAF on 9/25/2003;
"In Marauderville...we FINALLY got the answer as to why all of our cars do this directly from Steve Babcock.
He personally asked for the car to do this of the designers/ programmers to get that "aggressive, rumble, start-up" without using the accelerator.
No harm, it's the way it's supposed to be. As to whether the chip can over-ride it...Dennis is best to answer that."
