The first set of O2 sensors would be considered the Upstream and the seconds set of O2 sensors are the Downstream correct?

I'm going to be replacing my first set and just want to make sure I get the correct ones.

For those that have replaced theirs, what brand did you go with? Motorcraft, Denso, Bosch, NGK?

From engine back, Yup! Motorcraft imo.

The first set looks to be a job getting to them and having room for a wrench to work in that space. Any trick or tips on getting the first set off?

Not that it matters, but the wife and I both work at Bosch, me in the System 8 Dept., (ABS), and the wife works in the Oxygen Sensor Dept., one of the perks for working there, is that she gets free Ox sensors, at request. Guess what brand I'll go with.

They are color coded, geen and blue, so make sure you look to see what you have. Can't remember which are upstream and which are downstream. But I do remember Ford game me one wrong sensor. Might save you a trip back to the dealer. I thought I had 3 green and 1 blue for some reason. Or maybe Ford game me 3 green and 1 blue and I needed one of each? I can't remember. Thanks for listening.

There's an O2 tool that is worth using for those. I actually rented them, then returned them and got my money back. Free tool loans at Autozone and other Flaps.

Correct the upstream are the ones closest to engine down stream are the second set. Motorcraft is the only way to go unless you want to pony up for Ford Genuine.

I was just going to order the Motorcraft Upstream ones from RockAuto since they are like $33 each.

Also change them when hot.... just don't get burned. It's easier to get them loose when the metal expands.

Use anti-seize on the new ones if not already applied. DO NOT get anti-seize on the sensor part.... only on the threads.

I'm not changing them myself, going to have the guy who did my exhaust do them for a few bucks.

Anyone tried the BECK/ARNLEY brand? They are a European brand that is on most of the high end European luxury cars.

I've read the threads but I cant locate the Ford part number for the 02 sensors. Tasca states is this part number for upstream and down stream.

As I mentioned in another post I changed mine the other day but was in a hurry --deadline to get them first , then installed, then get cleared code ready before month runs out to get state inspection …...so I turned to Advance Auto and got NTK's --they are new --and not sure if its that or them but the changeout has opened up my beauty like an extra 50 HP--yeah they were the front
