The neighbors must think I'm crazy (I know my wife does)...I am realizing that part of my weekend always involves cleaning the marauder. Not always a vacuum, but definatly a wash or rinse off and detail spray. Especially since I just clayed it last weekend...
Is anyone else like this?
How often do you guys clean you cars?

How often do you guys clean you cars?
Once a year whether it needs it or not. ;)
My MM gets a bath every week followed by an ICE detail. Claybar twice a year in the Spring and again in the fall followed up with a Meguiar's NXT Tech waxxing each time. Spend some extra time on the MM before every major car show. Yes, I spend far too much time rubbing and wiping on the Blue. ;) This fact also has not escaped the notice of the neighbors and the wife. You ARE NOT alone in that.

I am always washing the pick-up or marauder. My neighbors think I am crazy when start under the hood.
When I dry any vehicle with the leaf blower they laugh, till I ask they if they every took their car throught a car wash?

I wash mine once a week if it need it or not.
Yea the neighbors look at me like I crazy.... but all their cars are POS.... most think the rain cleans it enough.
Same thing goes for their yards and houses.....

Mines under a cover so it gets a quick detail before cruise night or a car show. I have the Redline floormats which are very dense so a quick shake and they are clean. I wash it about once a month.

Keeping a black car clean by washing and spray wax every week is not crazy at all. I wash and ice every week. Trying to get my self to black box it soon

I was going to say too often, but after reading everyone else ... I don't quite qualify for the compulsive cleaning disorder!
The MM is washed a out once a month and detailed about every other. She is a duly driver.
The truck, well let's say it this way. At the start of the last peewee baseball season (Jan), my truck was the parade float. It still sports the team name on the back window and painters tape on the bumpers. It gets washed bout evey 6 months. The exception is snow country, underside and wheel wells are washed immediately upon return.

I wash all three of our cars every sunday unless it is supposed to rain on monday or tuesday. During the warm months they never go more than two weekends without being washed no matter what the weather. The get vacuumed as needed and all detailed twice a year.

Today!!! :D First time in a year, it doesn't get that dirty on the inside. Anyone use Meguiars Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish for swirl/light scratch removal? Works amazing!!!

At least once a week for me. But since I am having paint issues that break my heart, I only wax once or twice a year.

Wiped down every other day, spray detailed when needed and washed once a month, winter gets a coat of wax every so often, the summer could be once every 3 weeks.

I keep mine clean with a cover over her. A little detail spray and shes ready to go.
I'm getting ready to take her in for a clay bar and high speed wheel treatment. The engine is gettting alittle dusty though.

I had my detailer buff the car when I got it and I wax it probably once a month or a little bit more but would it be to my advantage to clay bar the car then do a black box over it?

Well since I am off tomorrow and it's going to 90* here I guess I'll wash the pick-up & marauder:)
Might just go for a spin around the block to dry them off..

More like when do I not detail should be the question.. I rarely do the whole car anymore. It's more like a fender on Saturday, bumper on Sunday type thing. Generaly speaking, my car is usually done right around the time the snow shoes go on. I can spend countless hours on just one panel. Thats OCD for ya!

You have a BLUE :confused::beer: :D

My Merc is an occasional weekend cruiser and frequent show car. Therefore, upkeep is ongoing but minimal when she never really gets that dirty.
Engine is detailed prior or during every car show (lots of time to kill) and interior is fully detailed a couple times of year. A 12 volt vacuum, microfiber towels and interior and leather detail spray make for quick sprucing up before/during car-related events.
Wheels, exhaust tips and exterior is treated to detail cleaners before being put away after every drive and at car-related event arrivals.
Exterior gets a wash, and full reconditioning twice per year.

If it was a daily driver, I'd probably be washing, cleaning, detailing every weekend. ;)

+1 I've used Nu Finish probably 3 or 4 times now and I'm very happy with the results. I'd probably get more mileage out of a "better" wax (could use another polish every 2 months) but with the MM sitting outside in the elements, water spots bake in no matter what I use.
As for OP, my neighbors think I'm crazy...they've told me so. I usually wash once a week, twice if I have time, but I've switched to washing at night! Don't have brutal sun baking me and the car as I wash. Makes polishing easier too (metal not too hot). With 2 little kids, after 9pm is really the only time I get by myself anyhow. ;)

Since mine is used for business I keep her top notch all the time. I vacuum her out about once a week. Shampoo every spring and fall. Leather condition about once a month. My car might have 86k on her. But you can't tell on the inside thats for damn sure.

Clay it every spring and every fall. Wash and use Meguiars NXT wax once a month. And every 3 months I put on a paint sealer/glaze, after I wash all the wax off, and then put on fresh wax. And every week I use Meguiars Ultimate quick detailer. The paint is always deep, spot free, and smooth like a baby's bum.

I have a car show nearly every weekend from April until October. I have several Mustangs that go to these events, and my wife brings the Marauder. That means that every Friday or Saturday, these cars are getting washed and if not waxed, at least detailer is applied.
Once each year, in the spring, I do a complete detailing with multi-step: clay bar, paint cleaner, paint polish, paste wax, and sealer. My oldest car (1969) looks as good as the day it came home from Elwood Ford. Cleaning and Waxing is life insurance for the exterior. Constant oil and fluid changes is the same thing for the mechanicals.
