ok i have a minor oil leak somewhere under the front of the motor i say minor because non of the oil seems to make it to the ground before i have someone pull the motor to replace the gasket is there a overthe counter oil seal fixer like this (and yes i know it wont be a perminant fix but funds are short now)stuff here im thinking of trying first one now and in about 2000 miles when im due for a oil change do the other one ...your thoughts and suggestions are welcome good and bad .

No! Don't throw that crap in there! These engines are sealed pretty well and shouldn't leak. You need to find that leak. Get under there, dry everything off and drive it until you find where it's coming from. Are you sure it's from the engine and not your power steering, etc.? The fan can blow oil back. It could be something very easily fixed!

+1 Make sure it's engine oil first before even thinking about tossing that crap down its throat. Lots of stuff on the front of the engine that hold oil, figure out what it is first.

I agree with the other post, fix it right the first time, and be done with it, i would be fearful that "miricle in a can" would plug my oil pump pick up!

It's probably your oil filter adaptor gasket that's leaking. It seems to be the most common culprit for an oil leak on the front of these engines from what I've seen. The gasket is probably less than $20 and can be done easily without pulling the motor.

I lost exactly two quarts (as has others) when this gasket has gone bad.

Clean your engine and put the UV dye in there. With the dye a leak will glow under a black light. They should sell the dye and light at your local auto parts stores. Find where the leak is before trying to replace gasket(s).
If it's the oil filter adapter plate or front main seal they can be done with the motor still in the car. If it's the oil pan gasket you will have to raise or pull the motor.
If it's the timing cover you can do it in the car but it will be a big pain and IMO easier to yank the engine.
I had a bad front seal and oil pan gasket from a failed steeda crankshaft pulley. I pulled the motor to do the oil pan gasket and decided to get some powder coating done while I had things apart.

Also check the oil feed for the s/c .

I was going to say the same thing - if you have a centrifugal supercharger with oil feed and return lines they could also be culprits.
