Go to any Ford dealership, they can hook it up to the computer and get the code for you!

Thank you... however, I know this as I used to work @ a dealership, and was trying to avoid going thru that process as they would charge me an unnecessary amount for something I can find out otherwise...

We had a 2006 Freestyle SE. Traded it in last fall for a used 2009 Flex. Love the Flex BTW. Make sure you change the CVT fluid on a regular basis. There is a plug on the bottom of the transmission that a 3/8" extension will fit into. There is no dipstick, so you have to remove the tube between the throttle body and the air box to get at the fill plug. So make sure you put back the same amount of fluid that you drained out. If I remember, I think it's about 4 or 5 quarts. The fluid isn't cheap, but it's cheaper than a new transmission. And don't tow anything heavy with it.

Other than this what did you think of the Freestyle?
Always kinda liked it, and thinking about a possibility as a dd.

when I sold them in 2004 when they first came out...man people didn't understand them at all... now, you can hardly find one for sale... I think there wonderful people haulers with excellent gas mileage, and leg room. ... My wife is taking it to Florida next weekend to go to Disney... I trust it more than my 2000 Explorer with 200k miles on it...
How often do you change the CVT fluid?

Found the code BTW!!
