Just wanted to let you guys know that my old Marauder is now sitting on the lot at McAlpine Ford (Yonge St, in Aurora). I don't know what they are asking for the car, but the car has been well treated, though I gather everyone of the sales guys have taken the car out for a little "test drive" since they got it...
I'm going to post the left over parts for sale, on the weekend (res. delete tips, CVPI wheels + winter tires, aeroforce gauge, carpeted trunk lid liner).
If anyone here is interested in the Marauder, feel free to ask me any questions... If anyone ever finds one with a green rocker switch hidden in the driver's seide of the console (where the console meets the floor), you'll know it was mine ;)
My new daily driver is a 2011 F150 FX4 Supercrew 3.5L twin turbo. The Ecoboost has been delivering gobs of power (powerbrake launch of a twin turbo 4x4 is a bunch of fun:coolman:) and fuel economy is surprisingly good; based on current gas prices, I am saving about 5-cents per kilometre driven (mostly stop and go and still breaking the truck in).

Marauder owners are dropping like flies! I would rather have that truck than a marauder too! That thing is beautiful!

Very nice truck I have been looking at them as well. May part with one of my MM's but not both. I sold a F-250 King Ranch and a 7.3 litre Excursion within last year and have been lost with out a all purpose vehicle. Good luck with the truck!!

The switch was/is for the DRLs. I hated the fact the DRLs were always on, so rigged a switch to allow me to turn them off when needed (e.g., sitting in a parking lot with the engine running, etc.).

Yup, I emailed them last night and told it was sold. Not a bad price either.

Would it be rude to ask what the dealer gave you for it? I've been thinking about trading mine in for a Lincoln MKS.

How many kilometers do you have?

~162K. I say approximate because my odometer is in miles (101500m). Bought mine in the States.

Gonna guess they go low on you, and offer something like $3.5-4K, citing the mileage and the fact that a "US car may scare away buyers"

Hmm...yeah the milage could be an issue. However, aside from the odometer the car is identical to any Canadian bought one and is (of course) 100% legally imported. Oh and mine is a 2004 model, not sure if that helps or not.
Any reason you didn't try to sell privately?

I think it's worth more, I just think dealers look for reasons to low ball trade-ins.:bs:
As for my story... I did list on autotrader for a week, but there was a perfect storm brewing:
1) I needed bucket seats with console (not the normal 40/20/40 split bench), and really wanted the 3.5L twin turbo, and there are only a handful of such trucks in all of Ontario. Find one (that wasn't ridiculously over-optioned / overpriced) was tough.
2) I needed the truck right away, for a number of summer tasks (e.g., I am taking the 4 days off this week to put down interlocking in the backyard), and didn't want to have to carry insurance on an extra vehicle, juggle the driveway space, etc. while trying to sell.
3) I bought on the last day of the Costco discount (another day, and the truck would've cost an extra $1,000).
4) My cost less trade in was within my budgeted amount, and I walked away with a pretty sweet deal - between trade and discounts, I saved well over $20k off the truck.

Dealers always low ball you because they want to flip it and make profit. Used cars is the way dealers make money.
