Drove my first Marauder today!!!

in my search for a Marauder, i find out my local Carmax has a Marauder for sale. so i decide to drive out today to look at it and drive it so i can see how they are. I drive a 2000 CVPI so i had an idea but its so much nicer! :D

so comes the test drive, salesman tells me he has to drive it off the lot, then i can drive it. he puts it in drive, and presses on the pedal. well this guy is some driver. he eratically turns right and almost clips a few cars. wow. then we're going around a left turn and i notice he has turned awfully tight. well i was right and he hits the curb with the left rear tire. we get out of the driveway and go to swap places so i can drive. we look at the tire and rim. luckily no curb rash and the salesman says "wow, she has some power for a mercury, luckily i didnt damage the rim." :eek: i'm just shaking my head in my mind.

well compared to my CVPI, i really want a Marauder now. lol.

-rides so much smoother
-quieter
-stereo/speakers 10x better
-steering is so much nicer

These are the same reasons plus a few others that I got rid of my '94 CV LX. The victoria had a softer ride, obviously, but that was the only thing I missed about it.

Actually glad that I totaled the Grand Marquis and was able to get a Marauder.

Not to sound negative REAL4WD, but that just doesn't sit right w/ me considering it's a used car, just my 0.02¢. :confused:

That salesperson is an idiot. A new 4cy Accord or Altima is faster that a stock Marauder. If he cant handle that, he shouldnt be driving anthing.

That, or he is hiding an issue when the MM just starts up/the engine is cold.:confused:

carmax has a gate that requires a keycard swipe to get out. and its company policy that the car is driven out of the gate. then the customer is allowed to drive the car.

yes he is an idiot. but then again easily over half of commiefornia's drivers are idiots and can't drive.

salesman gave me the key to start up the marauder while he took my driver's license so i can test drive it. so i started it, listened to it and looked for smoke upon startup. none.

I was thinking the same exact thing! Smart car with boat bumpers ftw! :D

Don't forget to test the wipers, headlights, A/C, all windows, door locks, radio stays on for more than 10 minutes...
