That would be great!

But in reality between the vast majority needing to get passports and being quite a bit north of the MM sweet spot {so many members are in the carolina's-virginia area} i would think the numbers attending would be down.

Niagara falls on both sides of the border could be a possibility, i love that area. Toronto is a great destination as well.

Toronto/Niagra Falls is no further than we had to go to North Carolina or Indiana--somebody make a proposal for MV X--just plan for it before the snow flies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D

As i said before i don't think the falls is a good destination for a MM event as it's quite a distance for most, kinda like florida would be a big haul for most. Keeping it more central would work better I think. Also there are not really a lot of car related things to do in the area, no wood brothers or speedways ect. Also anyone who has had a brush with the law wouldn't be able to cross the border.

Now Ms. D, as for a getaway with Mr. Man, this is a must visit. There are so many neat things to do in the honeymoon capital of the world. Peak season feels a bit like a tourist trap, sept., october it's paradise IMO. Off season hotel rates are downright cheap also. You would need a week to see\visit all the cool stuff! Off the top of my head...

Maid of the mist {awesome experience}, journey behind the falls {take an elevator down, tunnels to behind the falls, very cool}, whirlpool jetboat {havn't done that one yet}, white water walk {see the power of the river below the falls close-up} clifton hill {wax museum, guiness museum, lotsa wierd neat stuff all within a few blocks}, butterfly conservatory, bird kingdom {both very cool} marineland, whirlpool areo car {not me, i don't trust those cables!} casino's {yuk!} lots of vineyards with tours, old forts from the war of 1812 era and a 90 minute drive from lake erie to lake ontario along the river that is just spectacular. Wow, that's one heck of a sentence!

Give it a try sometime!

I hear you, to non-travellers like us it's not worth the bother. Another reason a MM event wouldn't fly here is the dollars value, a few years ago Americans could plop down a hundred bucks and get back 145
Canadian dollars, now you would get back about 95.

Why do you not see it?
You're not going to make people here "move forward" as you put it, and people here seem to be happy to be "stuck in the past" as you put it.
You're swimming against the current, which is fine, but don't act surprised.
Obviously I see what you did there, but why would you even care to bring that stuff here after all that's happened, no matter "who's fault" it is???
I respect Zack and his talents and I would think that he's on to bigger and better things by now on his own than trying to get on here through you???

Dom, as much as I'd like to see the Z-man back here, it ain't gonna happen, so like BDJ sez, it's time to move on.

Besides, we still have him over at CSVT.

Moving on would be forgetting about the past. With the way things are, his banning is because of the past. Moving on would mean he would be back here.

Let me explain this. This is a site for the Mercury Marauder right? Right. People come here to learn about the car, bs, hangout, meet, GET TIPS exc. So who knows more than anyone about a Marauder? You can bet all the cheese in the midwest the man that knows that isn't welcomed here by anyone who calls the shots.

So if anyone in charge cared about the Marauder and the people who love them you would want the most helpful site right? Well it seems like it's not seen that way. As I said before it's gone from Gearheads to business men and women. Make sure the supporters are HAPPY! If there is a problem with someone on the site who is just a member, that's between that person and whoever has the problem with them.

Now as far as Zack goes, I know it seems like I am stroking his ego all the time, but I get Zack. He is a guy who is actually one of the nicest people I ever met with a rough exterior if you get my drift. He never throws the first stone, only after multiple stones are thrown, he doesn't throw back... he brings out the big guns the first and only time. So why do so many dislike him? Because he will call someone out when they are doing something wrong, providing a tip that's misleading or flatout being an idiot.

Who wants to hear any of that? No one I know of, but I sure appreciate hearing those things because he's only saving me time, money and my car whenever he says "I'm not working on your car." You know why? Because he knows the car. He knows what works, what doesn't and what's a stupid idea. Not only will he save you the wrench time, but the money of making a purchase. People in sales wanna sell you anything, even if they know their product is crap. No pun intended, just in general.

So a few people are mad at him? Well let's hear what these people have to say. Zack doesn't start trouble, but he sure get's into it whenever he's trying to help people on this site.

To this day I still feel like he is wasting his talents by only posting on sites and wrenching in his own house. I asked him why one day and he said "I just don't want people biiitchin' at me." He understands how dumb people can be and impatient, because they have no idea what it takes to work on a car. He wants to keep his passion for cars fun and not a business, something I finally understand. Now if the site would understand this, we'd be one big happy family.

Who ever said he wanted back on here?

The shadow knows.

Why? If he's OK with it, why aren't you?

He wants to keep it fun, why would you want to ruin that?

I know from personal experience also how working on a lot of other people's projects can take the fun out of it sometimes.
If it's fun for him, then good for him, he deserves it.

When wrenching becomes a chore, then the hobby is not longer fun.
Let Zack have his fun, IMHO.
No need to drag him into certain drama that he doesn't need.

I'm not on him to go work for John Force. I asked him why once and never asked again.

If that's fun to him fine, I'm not out to ruin his fun at all. It just seems to me he deserves more than what he is giving himself. That's all I am trying to say. I worked on peoples cars before, even at a shop for a little while. I liked it, but nothing as major as the work Zack did. We are different people, different things float our boats.

Anyway, I wasn't too surprised to find the thread I created a few days ago deleted. I figured it would be gone by morning due to the trigger happy moderators here. I received an email from MF.net about the thread a few days ago and yes it did spill over to this site, which is why I brought it up. You wouldn't know it because ALL OF THE THREADS WERE DELETED.

I do agree with TMF on nearly all points. In all of the years I've surfed forums I find that people find their mark. Most trigger happy mods have little in their lives to occupy their time so they hit the delete and closed thread buttons and this becomes the very center of their existence. They often check in 17 times a day to see if there is something or someone they can dominate with their Napoleonic ability to moderate (and I moderate several myself but I can't think of any time in the past 3 years I've deleted anything related to any of the groups I take care of.) Especially hot topics that many are commenting about or to. We all know the type.

It's an illness that some have I guess. Kind of like those people who yearn to be on the board of a Homeowners association. Who want to be the one to tell one of the neighbors that their bush is 3 centimeters too close to the fence or their door needs to be painted. But I am used to it, but I sure wish people would find more constructive things to do with their time thinking they are doing the world a favor pressing buttons all day. The same people who had alot of negative things to say about the very person related to that thread, which makes it all the more hypocritical that they do it to us.

I already know the cookie cutter answers I will receive so don't bother. But someone was on point with the creation of a room where no holds are barred. Where mental illness, haughtiness, holiness and political correctness, delete buttons etc. are left at the door.

Don't get me wrong, I am not mad, just satisfied that I was right. I can't say I was let down or surprised by their actions. I am sure they will sift through their pre-canned answers to justify that itchy finger.. The world is not lily white my friends so stop pretending that it is by laundering the posts. There was no foul language or unsuitable talk. It was simply about a hypocrite site owner badmouthing a member here whom I like. His henchmen and women also jumped on the band wagon with little or no proof and anyone with a dissenting opinion was banned or made fun of.

I am simply happy for one thing though, BCG of GA was banned from her own site... Priceless..!!

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000388/): Holy Jesus! What is that? What the **** is that? WHAT IS THAT, PRIVATE PYLE?
Private Gomer Pyle (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000352/): Sir, a jelly doughnut, sir!
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000388/): A jelly doughnut?
Private Gomer Pyle (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000352/): Sir, yes, sir!
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000388/): How did it get here?
Private Gomer Pyle (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000352/): Sir, I took it from the mess hall, sir!
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000388/): Is chow allowed in the barracks, Private Pyle?
Private Gomer Pyle (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000352/): Sir, no, sir!
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000388/): Are you allowed to eat jelly doughnuts, Private Pyle?
Private Gomer Pyle (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000352/): Sir, no, sir!
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000388/): And why not, Private Pyle?
Private Gomer Pyle (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000352/): Sir, because I'm too heavy, sir!
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000388/): Because you are a disgusting fat body, Private Pyle!
Private Gomer Pyle (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000352/): Sir, yes, sir!
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000388/): Then why did you try to sneak a jelly doughnut in your footlocker, Private Pyle?
Private Gomer Pyle (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000352/): Sir, because I was hungry, sir!
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000388/): Because you were hungry...
[turns and addresses rest of platoon]
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000388/): Private Pyle has dishonored himself and dishonored the platoon. I have tried to help him. But I have failed. I have failed because YOU have not helped me. YOU people have not given Private Pyle the proper motivation! So, from now on, whenever Private Pyle ****s up, I will not punish him! I will punish all of YOU! And the way I see it ladies, you owe me for ONE JELLY DOUGHNUT! NOW GET ON YOUR FACES!
[rest of recruits get in front-leaning-rest position, Hartman turns to Pyle]
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000388/): Open your mouth!
[shoves jelly doughnut into PYLE's mouth]
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000388/): They're payin' for it; YOU eat it! Ready! Exercise!
