It wasn't that kind of show last year. No judging, no awards that I remember. You will enjoy it if you are interested in getting a close-up look at commercial jets.

Well, I got my vacation...but the timing is a little off. I will have no time to attend, as i will be on the road to North Carolina (enjoy the show guys).

However, I would like to have a GTG sometime while i am in town. I will be in town from the 27th September - (appr.) 7th October. The Marauder is all done and now just getting the tune finished. Let me know what you guys are donw for.

This tends to be the biggest event for us NorCal Marauders. We usually get our best turnout. Only time I've personally seen more Marauders in one place was at the CAM Gettysburg meet when I was out in Virginia on a business trip.

From my recollection from last year, there was plenty to do. They open one of the hangers with displays to look at. 3 or 4 planes to tour. Cars and planes to see. Other car enthusiasts to talk to. Somekind of kid playing area.

But I also made sure to bring sodas in a cooler, snacks (although I thought there were vendors there selling food), some brought chairs to sit in behind their car, I remember one tent brought by and for the mustang guys, etc.

But I also brought a battery booster and plugged my laptop and portable DVD and wireless internet into the battery booster to watch movies sitting in the back of the car. Seems like last year there was a good breeze that kept me cool so it worked out well. Don't know if it might be the same this year.

Never thought about the computer and wifi. I can do both of those. Even have a converter to run the electrical if need be though the laptop will last 6-8 hours on a full charge.

I usually carry those battery boosters (you know, that they sell for emergency in case my car needs a jump). But they come in handy when you need to run the portable DVD player without draining your car battery. For my laptop, I use the converter to the battery booster also. But i also make sure everything is charged up ahead of time too, of course, before needing the booster.

Good idea but even if you dont bring this there is plenty to do, lots of vendors in the hangers, food vendors, kids play area, commercial airliners 747, 737 the coast guard helicopter and vintage WWII era airplanes.

Early but normal for car shows, and events. We are usually there early to get in before the crowds. 275 cars this year so the staging parking area is going to be packed!

The 747 is really big and you get to sit in first class normally 10k a flight for FREE!

I am coming to the show with a different group (the characters from "Star Wars" ) I have my own vehicle pass, normally we park in front of one of the hangers. Would I be able to park with the rest of the Marauders ? It is a stock '03 MM, not very exciting.

The wife was pretty serious this year she detailed her, car, engine bay, pulled her Steeda air filter cleaned an oiled it. I created a monster...lol I am glad she is getting into this hobby as well.

I didn't take any pictures. My girlfriend and sister took the pictures. I'm sure they took pictures of the planes. I'll get them posted later.

On the way to the car show area, the attendant stopped me and asked if I was looking for the regular parking lot. :-(

When we first got parked, another car show person came up to me and said he had a 1992 Grand Marquis and a 2009. And that they were good cars. Not sure if he understood my car was a Marauder or not. I wasn't particularly in a good mood at the moment so I was kind of rude to him. So sorry for that. I should have educated him about Marauders.

I did hear another adult lady walk by later in the day and she said to someone beside her "My father has one of those". Yeah, it was probably a Crown Vic or Grand Marquis.
