Another reason to carry and conceal. Not saying it would have helped this guy because they shot him and his girl even though he had given up the car but carrying might even the odds.

This is why I carry a metal flash light and another key in the drivers seat. I would have never gotten out of the car.

I am fed up with criminals having "rights". Pal, you just signed away all your rights when you pulled that trigger. :mad2:

It's not so much the criminal that deserves a trial but the person that was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

But I agree with F8LBITEva this is exactly why you C&C.

Looks like the assailants were in control before they knew what was happening. These guys need to be taken care of down a long dark road.

My "without a trial" comment was meant in agreement with the poster who said that the death penalty would be fitting.

More than 15 years ago I believe that Louisiana passed a law about carjacking that acknowledged in law the right of a victim/potential victim to use deadly force if necessary to defend themselves without fear of being charged with a crime. Unfortunately, the Peoples Republic of Maryland with as many or more carjackings does not allow same. Even C & C is virtually UNallowable.

Do not stop for gas at that time of night unless you're really aware of whats going on around you.

I had to stop in Downtown Atlanta in the middle of the night bringing Trilogy 54 home with my son. You can bet we were keeping a keen eye out for any thugs.

they didnt take the car, sounds like the killers were just looking for someone to shoot....

if someone sticks a gun in my face, the last thing ill be thinking about is laws. the old saying: id rather be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

god willing,ill be defending myself.

I'm from Opa Locka, the place they were is just outside of where I'm from. That kind of stuff happens all the time down there. My condolences to the families of the victims.
I was carjacked at gun point when I was 16 just 4 blocks away after that I carried a gun even tho I was under age. That neighborhood is no joke.

It means criminals do give up certain rights but we have trials to protect innocent people from being imprisoned or executed.

Knock them out someway, tie them up. When they wake up, they find them selves in a long, loud, bumpy metal tube of sorts. Then someone comes up to them, while they are chained up and says here you go; gives them a key. At the end of the corridor a box with a cemlight ontop. When they are unchained they move to the box to see what is what, only to find they are still strapped to something. Then all of the sudden the rear cargo doors of a c130 opens, and they are yanked out and unknowingly a volunteer in a parachute jump into the desert of Iraq, or take your pick.

You want action, here you go M.F.

Condolences to the victims and their loved ones and families.

BTW... carjacking is a federal crime. When sentenced for a federal crime there is NO parole.

Hopefully these scum bags will get what they deserve.

In New Jersey, you "have the right to flee"

In other words, if a guy breaks into your home, you can't shoot them unless you can't excape out the back door or jump off your roof. Only if they have a weapon, are you then allowed to respond with deadly force.

Here in Florida you can shoot anyone as long as your life was in danger or they are facing you inside your property.

Texas is largely the same way.

In your property by day, 1 warning then shoot.

In your property at night, forget the warning. ;)

In most cases though, you can't meet non-lethal force with lethal force. :/

Not applicable in this situation of course...

In Louisiana there is a shoot policy. If they are on your property they can be in trouble. Like Texas everyone carries a gun or big stick.
Is your property worth their life? Hell ya.

I have a better way, but I sure wouldn't want to elaborate on a public forum.

It's a shame 2 lives were taken, and for what? It makes you think twice before going into a gas station in the middle of the night, of course, I've seen things go bad in the middle of the day too.

I feel for the victims and their family's....:bigcry:, already been through this type thing once in my life, I know what they are going through.

I was filling up in a high crime area in the early hours. I was familiar with the fact it was a high crime area.

Here comes Mr. Criminal on a bike making a bee line right towards me with a revolver in a plastic bag between the handle bars.

I remove the pump from the Gas Tank and extend it, aiming right towards his face. I do a quick pull/release to let him know gas is headed towards him. He immediately does a u turn.

On another occasion I wsa driving right as the sun was rising. A car starts following me. It was obvious they were looking for the right time to car jack me. At the next stop light I slam on the brakes and put the car in reverse at WOT. I stop just before ramming them. I take off before they can figure out what happened.
