Looks like Headers/Exhaust are next in line for my Trilogy 03....
I've been reading past threads for the past day, so please double check my plan:
Stainless works Headers - 10% off in July ~$890
Magnaflow High Flow Cats - Currently $54 a piece from performancepeddler
Magnaflow X-pipe 2.5" - Currently $83 from Performancepeddler
Turboflow Mufflers - Keep
I have a local performance exhaust shop that can do the work...Custom SS 304 mandrel bent pipes correct?
So, general plan
Install headers and Magnaflow Cats
Delete rear cats
Install 2.5" Midpipe w/ new X-Pipe
Any other misc parts I would need that exhaust shop wouldn't have? Does the O2 sensor need an extension and if so is there an adapter pigtail for that or just chop and splice?

What's the p/n for the cats and X-pipe you're looking at?
Most likely the exhaust shop will do a chop and splice.
Also, as mentioned in a previous thread, you'll need to factor in the cost for a new tune, also will need to shut off the O2 sensors for the rear cats or you'll throw codes.

also will need to shut off the O2 sensors for the rear cats or you'll throw codes. Aren't the O2 sensors before the rear cats, ergo they wouldn't trigger a code if they weren't there? Been a while since I've crawled underneath but I was of the belief that it would be the same as the 2V Panthers in that respect, and rear cat delete is absolutely do-able without a tune on those.

Yes, I was too under the impression no o2 delete on rear cats.

Correct, I did the rear cat delete and it didn't affect the rear O2's.

I'd just get the maucat system. Bolts right on. o2 extensions included.

At twice the cost of a custom install? What's the advantage? I guess no welds but is that it?

Advantage is you can bolt it on yourself with no welding if you want to in your garage on jack stands. SW cats are highflow 3" diamater pipes. SW makes a very nice kit. Sell your old cats for $200 cash.
Cheaper to do it your way perhaps. Better still if you use mandrel stainless. Also MBS makes over the axle pipe kits if you need that as well.
Good luck and post some pics.
