To my surprise, i recently tried to clean the OEM wheels with a very nice aluminum polish and I could tell after the first couple wipes that these things are sealed up. So if you can't polish them, what do you guys use for a cleaner?

Damp micro fiber gets most of the grime and then polish with a dry one.
The rims are clear coated. I use ICE quick detailer on mine.

Any spray on wheel cleaner works fine.

I hope you didnt take too much of the clearcoat off or you'll be doing a lot more polishing.
Anything you would use on the paint, you use on the rims. I wax my rims just like I do the rest of the car.

NO it didn't take too much of anything off. Like I said, I could tell immediately that I was wasting my time.
I did use some windshield cleaner and it worked very good at removing the tiny specs of tar and stuff, but I can't imagine immonia being good for long term use.

Multi-clean for the heavy stuff, followed by Wash & Wax, finished off with Qucik N Slick when I detail the car.

That wheel wax doesn't seem to address a sealed aluminum wheel. Have you used it personally? Seems like the sealing properties are redundant, but if it's a good cleaner then that would be nice.

Anything you use on the painted surfaces of your car you can use on the wheels, including a claybar.

I have used it for years. Works great and makes the wheels much easier to keep clean between full detailings.
I usually will pull each wheel off and clean them using car wash soap and a micro-fiber towel. Then I give them a good hand buffing and coat them with wheel wax. Usually lasts 3-6 months depending on the amount of service the MM sees.

I've order some to try after talking to the company. He said that he uses it on his personal clear coated aluminum chevy truck wheels with no problems, didn't recommend using power balls. He said apply to all four wheels then go back and start wiping the first one.. I'll post after I get it and use it

What about a product to remove the sticky stuck on paper left from old wheel weights on the inside of the rim?

Goof Off is what I use. Follow it up with a good cleaning and good coat of wax.
Goof Off is also good for removing tar.

Denatured Alcohol would do the trick also. It'll soften up and roll right off.
