Has anyone tried this Nitto NT05 tire yet? I'm stuck between this one and the 555extreme.

Reading the reviews, it appears that the NT05 was preferred over the 555...Looks like a good tire

Go with the 555. If you have power on the street and laying down big torque numbers then you will spin any and all sets of tires. Your only hope for traction is to have a friend spray VHT in front of your tires. :burnout:

Don['t know about those newer ones--that tread pattern gives a little less to rely on --not sure I would go with that pattern--here is why--

I just put on new 295's last week on my rears and within 150 miles got a screw in right rear which required patch/plugging--its a roll of the dice with these tires due to their soft compound--they are great for grip and wear but due to the soft compound they just cannot seem to spit out nail/screws--more of a magnet unfortunately...

it also depends how often he drives the car. a weekend cruiser i would go with the NT05 if daily driven i would choose the 555.
BTW its a proven fact that the NT05 stick better than the 555.

Yeah that's what Landy was telling me tonight. I think th NT05 will be perfect for my intentions. Now if only I can find a shop that has competent people to mount them on these freshly powder coated rims I'll have. Shoot, I'll do it myself as long as I can use their lift. They also have a NT05R, which is a bada#$ D.O.T. approved drag radial. Too aggressive though for my stock splines.

Ask the installer if he has the urethane covers that does not allow the machine or the pry bar to come in contact with the wheels (which is a must for your wheels) discount used them on my widened wheels.

You mean the discounttiredirect.com installer or discounttires installer? They both are pretty cheap but we only have the discout tires store around here. I'll find out when they open Monday.
