Hello

I would like to get my mean machine tinted. I live in Rockland County NY, I know that 3M is supposed to be very good. You can use Windex on it, plus it holds up well. Having a hard time finding a good shop near me.. The price is too high at a shop not far from me in Nanuet. Looking for a good shop, with a reasonable price. I know one can tint the car with a kit for $90.00. But I I do not know if I have the knowledge to make it look just right.

So any help would be appreciated

To get decent tint if you don't know somebody that does it professionally will cost you some good money. Mine for example was 330 but I got the windshield strip and the extra UV protection on mine. But prices will be around 250 for a basic tint

I just got mine done yesterday on my MM..I only got the rear window and the two back doors done..$179.99. All doors would have jumped it to $229.99

I had my Grand Marquis tinted recently for $150 cash no tax in east Chicago, excellent quality tint and perfect installation. I will be re-doing my Marauder there as they did such a good job and my current 3m tint seems to be getting lighter and lighter as time goes on.

Anyone around here need the name of this place let me know.

I had 30% done on mine about 4 years ago. Dark enough to look good and block a lot of the heat but just light enough to not be bothered with since the legal limit in MD is 35%.

It wasn't about saving $50..I chose not to do the driver and passenger door windows..Too many communities around me that have been known to ticket for tint and I got 15% on the back doors and rear window and did not want to get 50% for the front doors. If I ever choose to do so, it is easily done.

Tinting is fun! I do all mine and my brother's windows. I did mine in 2008. 5% rear and 35% sides. I love it. The only thing is something in my door put a line in the front two windows. I just did a strip across the top of the windshield saturday. I wanna do it all over sometime though...

I was told it is NOT LEGAL to tint the two front side windows in NY. Kind of silly as that is where one would want to keep the sun and heat out the most.

Any thoughts advise?

Sig is tint on mine... got it that way when I purchased used. Back window tint needs replacing

I had mine done at Model Electronics in Ramsey NJ, on 526 Rt 17 North,(just south of Lake street) next to the car wash. They gave me a good price because they were also installing the GPS system in the car, a back-up camera, and some underhood LED's.
Call them and get a price. They do good work. I don't let just anybody touch my cars.

I don't have an answer to your question prg333, but I too would like to know of a "local" shop that does quality work for a reasonable price.

As for it being illegal to tint the two front windows, I do not believe that is the case as almost every car w/ tinted windows here in NYC have their front windows tinted, I believe it is the legal %.

I got my Marauder tinted yesterday. I went on a suggestion of a co-worker. They use 3M CS and I got mine 35% all the way around.

The people at the shop were very friendly and professional. They answered all my questions.

The job took about 4 hrs.
I would highly recommend them. Been in buz for 20+ yrs

I had TWO layers of 5 on mine for awhile till i got nailed by the cops. It was like night time all the time. I got it all done for 50 bucks... I recommend becoming real good friends with a tinting guy :D Thats what i did.
