Hey all - my first post here on MM.net (except my hello post).

I just got an 03 MM - awesome car. The only minor problem I've had so far is that my inside rear view mirror is a little loose - it vibrates with every bump in the road, and is a bit annoying. It appears to be loose where the black piece slides down over the aluminum piece that's glued to the windshielld.

I tried figuring out how to take it off the aluminum mount that's glued to the windshield, but I can't. It has some kind of spring clip or something - no screws anywhere to be found - and I can't figure out how to get it off so I can see where it is loose in there and do something about it.

I searched for a while here on MM.net, found a few posts, but none with instructions on how to get this thing off. Any clue?

Thanks much!

I had the same problem with mine. Have to push that little blk bar covering the wires up into the headliner and then pull to a side (its gonna be tight). Then slide the mirror up and off the mount. I had two solutions for mine, first was I kept adding double stick tape to tighten it up, but that didn't look as good as I wanted (didn't look bad but was obvious to me). Other is to replace mirror. I got a gently used one from a member and it helped.

Does it just slide off, or do I need to do something with the clip on the bottom? It seems awfully tight, I don't want to pop the mount off the windshield, or worse, break anything :)

Just be careful! I googled how to get mine off my Marquis and followed the instructions. I ended up needing a windshield :censor:

AHA! Thanks capt512, got it off. I slid the plastic piece aside like you said, and the mirror just slid off (to the top) with not too much pressure. Now I can get something in there to tighten it up. Thanks for the tip!

Ugly pic Jesse, lol :(
