Ok here is the issue...starter makes one click when i turn the key to start. The cables have some corrosion on them and one of the post on the starter is slightly loose. I was having this same problem about 4 months ago and got a new battery and the car started. What I'm guessing now is that the battery wasn't really bad in the first place it just didnt have enough power to overcome the corrosion that is on the battery cable. Some new corrosion has even built up on the new battery terminals already this shouldnt have happened in just 4months with a brand new battery.

Went to the ford dealership and they said the battery cable has been discontinued. So i went to the junkyard to see what i could find...nothing. I'm going to search the net a bit more for a starter and battery cable. Any input would be greatly appreciated :burnout:

go to an independant shop and have them b uild you a cable. we do it all the time on discontinued cables using a napa cable kit.

Brush the terminals with a wire brush or something harsh. Sounds like a stuck starter tap the starter a few time and see if it turns

I took everything apart, gonna take the starter and cable to school with me today. I'll open the starter up and play with it a little bit and maybe it will work right when i put it back together, as for the cable i really dont know what too much corrosion is but i'll see what my instructors say. I remember one of them telling me before that he had seen corrosion up under the plastic tubing of the cable where you couldnt see it just from looking at it, he had to peel that layer back.

Looks like you'll need a new starter... the post(s) should not be loose. If they are loose your creating high resistance in that circuit.

The battery cable should be the same for a CV or GM.

I'd make my own.......

Yea and i think the high resistance is why my battery couldn't start it but it did when it had a jump from a stronger battery friday night. Drove to work and it wouldnt start back up. Tried to get another jump but it did nothing im guessing maybe the guys battery wasn't as strong as the one i had previously jumped it with. Ended up calling AAA that night but i got 100miles free towing LOL
