I was curious how long you could run a Vortech SC before you need to remove it to send in for a rebuild? 30K---60K----???

I have had my YS trim V-7 Renegade unit on a '93 Mustang for over 8 years. Drag racing and road course racing plus 25000 miles and she has never asked for anything. I also use Mobile 1, have a giant oil pan, oil cooler, and change the oil every 3 months.

Should be a looong time if.the oil is clean
I haven't had any problems with mines. Just take care of it and it will last a long time.

I know of one that went 60K before being sent off for rebuild, so I was wondering how long ago it should have been done?

I have a ProCharger P1-SC and at 67K miles it sounded HORRIBLE!!:argue: Sent it off for a rebuild and it came back very quiet and lasted another 60K miles before it sounded like it was full of rocks again!!!:mad2:
I am now at about 10K miles on a new P1-SC blower head!!
I'd say 60K may be the magic number for one that is not raced but mine is a self contained lube system ProCharger!! The Vortech may do better with the recirculating oil system??
My $0.02....FWIW!!:D

my Vortech V2 supercharger is visiting its original home in California for a rebuild.
it was making a bit more noise than normal. and just started to leak.
So off to vortech for a rebuild.
right now they have a three (3) week turn-around time, so the Marauder will sit until the unit is refurbished
it made it 65K Supercharged miles.

On my previous car the v2 s-trim only made it thru 27k fun miles no complaints here.

My V2 is over 6 years old, but only has ~20,000 KM's on it. Other than fixing some issues caused by the original installer, I've had zero issues or strange noise with it.

wait till 75-80K kilometers of daily driving...Then it may start to show its age

My Vortech V2 S trim will be home soon.
I realized that the Supercharger had started to go 10 to 15K miles back, it was a sound I could note quite place, now I know what it was.
Now I need a new Belt (For my setup I use a 4061090 Gatorback)
And time to put it back in the car...!
I can hardly wait...

Key here is drive belt alignment. If you are prematruely burning up drive belts, alignment should be examined very closely. Misalignment delivers pressure against the shaft, gears and bearings, and it can be very distructive. Pressure they were not designed to adjust to, and early wear on the drive belt would be a strong hint.
Just my .02c on the topic.
Y'all be safe.

Heard from Vortech
The head unit and new pulley will be here end of business Thursday.
(why a new pulley? I bent it a bit taking it off)
Summit racing came thru with a very quickly shipped new belt
(Why a new belt? It was over a year old, still good as a spare, but if the blower comes off for any reason I usually consider a new belt)
Yup!, I'll be out there in the dark getting everything ready and installing the blower (it can be done in about an hour).
