Cut off year for ABS senors?

I just wasted a day finding out this thing doesn't fit. I took an ABS sensor off of 1993 Lincoln Town Car. I am not thinking I have to find something off of a 2003+ car? Can it be any panther or does it have to be a GM or Town Car? The Taxi cabs in the yards do not seem to have ABS senors... at least in the rear.

I went to put the junkyard one in, but it looks like the "teeth" by the axel will not allow the new sensor to clear. I didn't manage to push it in all the way, just getting the factory one off took a while.

Any idea what's going on here?

I will post pictures later if no one understands.

Alright. Nothing past 04? I found an 06 in the yard yesterday, but the tires were still on. I will search for an 03-04. I am sure they are around. The yards are full of taxi cabs.

According to Ford parts database, The 05-07 and 08-11 have different part numbers.

Got the part off a wrecked 2003 Crown Vic taxi cab. Worked perfectly and again the junkyard didn't charge for the part, heck they didn't even change me to get in when I went to return the part that didn't fit. I'm a lucky boy.
